So to properly celebrate Christmas, Lamborghini set up a lifestyle-y convoy that’s been traveling around Italy to various points of interest, including the CO2-neutral Sant’Agata Bolognese headquarters, the sinuous roads of Alto Adige, and Plan de Corones in the Dolomites, at altitudes of 2,275 meters (7,463 feet), and the AlpiNN restaurant run by Michelin three-starred chef Norbert Niederkofler.

The tour’s main stars were none other than Lamborghini’s V8, V-10, and V-12 powered go-fast machines: the Urus, the Huracan EVO, and the Aventador SVJ. What’s the reason to celebrate, you’re asking? Well, other than the holiday season, an unseen-before boost in sales and profitability for the carmaker. Driven by the Urus super-SUV’s popularity, Lamborghini delivered more than 8,000 cars worldwide, a hefty increase compared to the 5,750 units it shipped in 2018.

A trademark filed by BMW in October 2020 with the US patent office has been submitted to the UK office on April 5, 2021. It’s called “XM” and Carbuzz thinks “it sounds like it could be a bespoke, M-branded SUV.”

With a decade on the market and God knows how many special editions and versions, the Lamborghini Aventador will soon be sent into the history books. In March 2020, BMW unveiled its new logo, a flat, minimalistic version of the one it has been using since 1997. While the new design offers a cleaner version that strays away from the old-looking 3D effects and shadows, it is just the latest version of a logo that has been around since 1917 and one that triggered many controversies regarding its origin.

AMG has had a lot on its plate lately. Whether it was the development of a new performance-oriented hybrid powertrain developed around a twin-turbo V-8 or the brewing of a sportier EQS variant, Affalterbach has had a lot going on. Nonetheless, the change train will keep going as AMG also has some interesting targets for the future.

Before the new Supra arrived, Toyota’s solely purpose-built sports car was the 86 (or GT86 or FT86 or Subaru BRZ or Scion FR-S, if you wish). In the U.S., the 2020 86 makes 200 or 205 horsepower and 151 or 156 pound-feet of torque depending on which gearbox you pick, so while it’s not oozing power, the 86 has other aces up its sleeves.

For example, the 86 is agile and overall a hoot to drive but, for some, a nimble RWD car that doesn’t need to be driven fast to generate quite the thrills simply doesn’t do the trick. Take this nice chap from Australia, for example.

The crew that filmed 2003’s The Italian Job had to overcome a couple of obstacles and one of them was that they weren’t allowed to drive combustion-engine cars inside Los Angeles’ subway tunnels. So, they switched to electricity.

RUF is one of the select few automotive institutions in the world that can take a Porsche, tear it apart, tweak it, glue it back together, and the result is a better car than the stock vehicle. Alpina’s knack for tweaking BMWs has its roots in the early 1960s, when Burkard Bovensiepen wanted to make his BMW 1500 go faster and developed a Weber dual carburettor system. Since then, Alpina’s road to tuning excellence took the trajectory of a steady upward curve sprinkled with rad builds that didn’t just offer more power or more torque, but a complete package of tweaks that complemented the extra oomph. It was June 23, 1989, when Tim Burton’s noir take on the story of Batman hit the cinemas. Michael Keaton played Bruce Wayne, Kim Basinger was Vicki Vale, and that movie’s Batmobile was, well, probably one of the coolest Batmobiles to ever serve the Dark Knight. So, what if we told you that somewhere in the UK, someone built a working replica powered by a V-8?

You know that a car is well loved among car enthusiasts when people are coming up with modern takes on the said car. Case in point: Rain Prisk latest set of renderings that look to bring a contemporary vibe to the Toyota AE86.

Lamborghini is preparing a mid-cycle refresh for its Urus “Super SUV” and with it, an electrified version of the high-riding machine, which is also in line for a more hardcore Sport RS version if we are to believe the latest reports.

It might look like the lovechild of a Ferrari Testarossa and a Porsche 911 but the two car manufacturers never worked together on such a project. It also looks like something concocted in an obscure workshop on Thailand, but it’s not that either. Meet the extremely weird Rinspeed R69, a car that used to be a perfectly fine Porsche 911 930 Turbo.

After having launched the 205 hatchback in 1983, Peugeot wanted to boost its image even further by competing in the rally madness that was the Group B. To homologate the necessary rally car, it needed to churn out 200 street-legal versions that had to be based on a current production vehicle. That vehicle was the 205 supermini and the result was the bonkers Peugeot 205 T16, aka Turbo 16 in France.

There are cars so rare and revered that they rarely pop up for auction. Most often than not, these cars come from the auto industry’s stratosphere and this Bugatti EB110 SS with just 9,000 miles on the odometer is that sort of vehicle.

Pagani’s Huayra R, the car that’s supposed to be the swan song for the Huayra supercar is an 838-horsepower, V-12-powered track jewel. But for some reason, Pagani decided that’s it’s for the best to reveal the R using 3D animation and not the rear car. Which is lame.

When Shiv Sikand and Dean Drako decided to build the GTE, that desire came, in fact, from necessity. The two business partners couldn’t find an EV they liked and simply set off to build one themselves. Six year later, the Drako GTE was born as a high-performance sedan than drives like an E46 M3 and packs 1,200 horsepower.

But power is nothing without control and in case you had any doubts that the GTE isn’t a finely-tuned precision tool, we’re here to shatter those.

Hennessey is hard at work getting the Venom F5 up to spec but a more track-focused variant isn’t completely ruled out by the company. It’s just that a GTR-esque F5 isn’t a priority, therefore, don’t expect it to materialize in the near future.

The story of Alpina began in 1962, when a young engineering student named Burkard Bovensiepen mounted a Weber dual carburettor to his BMW 1500. The carburettor system was manufactured in Burkard father’s precision component factory and the way it changed the performance of the 1500 caught a lot of attention from a lot of people. The rest, as they say, is history.

New details popped up online about the upcoming Nissan Z, including the fact that it won’t be called the 400Z as everyone thought, but simply the Z everywhere in the world except for Japan, which will get it as the Fairlady Z. Mind you, the following bits of information did not come through Nissan’s official communications channels, so do apply the pinch of salt rule when digesting them.

Lamborghini Urus test mules have been spotted recently doing some sort of pre-production testing on public roads and there are a lot of voices saying Sant’Agata Bolognese is gearing up for the unveil of the so-called Urus Evo. Here’s what we know about it.

Ever since its debut, the GR Yaris has been putting a lot of smiles on a lot of faces, mostly those of the car journos that had the chance to sample the feisty hot hatch. But the time has come for Toyota’s pocket-rocket to go rallying and looking at this video, it really seems up to the challenge.

The new Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 are on the way, but Toyota doesn’t want the 86 to have similar driving characteristics as its Subaru twin, which is why president Akio Toyoda decided to push the 86’s debut by one year.

In case you’re not up to date with news coming from Maranello, Ferrari hasn’t dropped plans to launch an SUV. At the same time, the Prancing Horse is rather tight lipped about its future Urus fighter, which has left enough leeway for pixel manipulators to roam freely on the fields of creativity. The results aren’t always eye-pleasing.
