Swedish giant Husqvarna rolls into MY2021 with boosted performance, new electronics, and a spanky new Euro-5 emissions compliance rating on the 701 Enduro. The factory also gave it a bit of a facelift with a new headlight housing, new instrumentation, and tuned up bodywork that benefits from Husqvarna’s extensive off-road racing experience. New brake hardware and switchable ABS rounds out the safety package.

The KTM 450 Rally is a legend in its long lifetime, taking 18 consecutive victories in the Dakar Rally up to 2019. Now, KTM has released a limited-production version for sale to the public, with development carried out in-race by the team’s riders. It’s the ultimate Enduro bike but you have to have deep pockets and even deeper talent to do it justice. Only 85 available worldwide.

The KTM 690 Enduro R joins its streetwise sibling, the 690 SMC R, to finish covering all the bases for street and dirt. As its diabolically clever name suggests, the “Enduro” is set up to be street legal so you can drive it down to your favorite off-road locale and skip the trailer and tow vehicle. Far from being just another dual-sport, the Enduro rocks the same top-shelf electronic rider aids as the SMC R to give it a safety and stability far beyond the norm for an off-road machine. The factory also chucked a new frame and top-shelf, WP XPLOR suspension at it to sweeten the deal.

Blurring the lines between mountain bikes and motorcycles, the Kalk series of machines from the Swiss made “Cake” intends “to speed up the journey towards a zero-emission society while enhancing excitement and fun.” They are walking the path that will change the future of riding with the focus on off-road performance and innovation in terms of weight and simplicity of riding.

Their newest entry is the Kalk INK. It takes on the KALK OR with the same powerful drivetrain with slightly heavier and stable wheels and a simplified and sturdier suspension derived from motocross machines. This is a black rendition of the KALK OR as a casual offroader for a thrilling backcountry exploration.

Until now, their motorcycle line-up included a Supermoto (SM), an Enduro (EX) and a Motocross (MX) electric off-road bikes.

Now, the makers are stepping up their game and have launched a brand new motorcycle called the Redshift MXR. All their current bikes badly needed an upgrade from their 250cc equivalent electric motors that only did 42 horsepower and 120 foot-pounds of torque. Luckily, the chaps at Alta have done just that.

The 2018 Redshift MXR Motocross model ups the ante in all departments and adds a significant change with its electronics package and battery-motor combo. It boasts of more power, less weight, better recharge times, and better heat management to keep the competition in check.

But luckily the excitement brought with the launch of these new machines means we and I get to see them on our roads pretty soon, and I cannot wait to unveil the secrets they behold.

The BMW GS adventure series of motorcycles have become quite a reminiscent name in the segment of premium enduro bikes in the country and they are the best selling range of motorcycles for the Bavarian company.
