Revised front and rear look and two-part headlights are part of the package
by Alina Moore, on LISTEN 01:58Ever since BMW launched the X7 back in 2018 everyone was waiting for an M version to follow, just like for all the other X models in the lineup. Of course, that never happened, and there is no hope to see one in the near future. Back in 2020, however, Alpina came with an alternative that was just as good if not better than the X7 M. Called BX7, the SUV is already preparing for a first refresh, and our spy photographers have already caught it out in the wild.
What changes will it get?
As you can see in the spy shots, most of the changes will be limited to the front and the rear of the car - since they are the only ones covered. The facelifted BX7 will of course retain the typical Alpina genes, but it seems that it will get the two-part headlights we’ve seen recently in the BMW XM Concept.
The front seems to also get an additional front lip, and, thankfully, it looks like the grille will not get any bigger. As for the rear, the bumper seems to be completely revised, and the tail lights received new graphics.
What will be carried over?
The engine! We do not expect to see anything changed under the hood, which means the facelift BX7 will be offered with the same 4.4-liter V-8 engine that delivers a total of 612 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. So, who needs the X7 M, when the BX7 delivers an extra 89 horsepower and 37 pound-feet over the BMW X7 M50i?
The current Alpina BX7 goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and up to a top speed of 180 mph.
As for an official launch, do not expect to see the revised Alpina BX7 at you local dealer before 2023.
