Overview
The goal of Floating Motors is simple. It is to put vintage cars, or rather vintage shapes, in the water. Pierpaolo Lazzarini, who is a well-known Italian designer, aims to resurrect leftover floats and transform some of the most iconic cars of all time into boats. His future customer has a number of alternatives for how this can be implemented.
Design
At first glance, Lazzarini’s creation appears to be a little out of date. On closer study though, you realize that these famous shapes of a bygone era could create special experiences. After all, what the design firm has in mind for its new venture is still only a concept. Although computer-generated graphics and animations of Floating Motors have previously been created, there is no prototype as of yet.
Iconic Shapes their way into the water, thanks to Floating Motors
If everything goes to plan, you will most likely get a chance to see some truly spectacular shapes inspired by classic cars hitting the water. Some of them include the likes of a Porsche 550 Spyder, a Fiat 500, a Jaguar E-Type, a VW Camper van, a Morris Mini, a Mercedes 300 SL with Gullwing doors, a Ferrari 208, Lamborghini Countach complete with scissor doors, and last but not the least, a Dodge Charger. Yeah, you heard that right, a Muscle boat.
Have a favorite classic, that you don’t see here? Floating Motors are happy to build one for you on request of course. If the Italian designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini’s vision becomes a reality, these stunning water bourne vessels might soon make it to production and will be seen in riviera’s around the world. However, no one needs to be concerned that their historic car may wind up in the water because the startup intends to make carbon or fiberglass copies.
What’ll power these beauties?
These floating motors are constructed on floating bases. In this case, a customer might also choose between a hydrofoilor a catamaran. It’s also worth noting that the propulsion system will have a variety of options. A potential customer can choose between the option of having a traditional outboard motor or an electric motor instead. The power output that these powertrains might produce ranges anywhere between 20 and 350 horsepower.
Where else can we see these car-boats being used?

Firstly, the company now intends to raise money through a crowdfunding campaign on its website. Backers will also receive tokens of the in-house Floating Motors cryptocurrency. For now, though all we know is that, as soon as the finance for Floating Motors is completed, a tiny first edition model dubbed the "La Dolce" will be underway based on a classic Fiat 500.
