by Sidd Dhimaan, onContinuation models aren’t a new concept. Shelby and AC introduced the CSX1000 in early 2000s and built just 14 of them. One of them is up for sale on Bring-a-Trailer! It features a blue paint with white racing stripes and an all-aluminum V-8 engine under the hood mated to a manual gearbox. This 2006 CSX1000 has 1,700 miles on the odometer and has been in the possession of just one owner so far. The car is going for close to $200,000.
What’s So Special About This 2006 Shelby CSX1000?
The car features an aluminum body painted in Le Mans Blue with Wimbledon White racing stripes. There are many nice touches on the car, such as side pipes with Cobra-branded heat shields, a single roll hoop, plexiglass wind wings, a Raydot-style aluminum side mirror, and Shelby badging on the body.
The CSX1000 rides on Halibrand-style 15-inch knock-off wheels that feature painted centers that look fantastic.
They are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle GT II tires measuring 235/60 at the front and 295/50 at the back. Braking duties are taken over by Shelby-branded calipers over cross-drilled and slotted rotors, and discs on all four corners.
On the inside, it is finished in black leather. The flooring, too, gets the same finish. Step into the cockpit and you’re welcomed by a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Behind it is a Shelby-branded instrument cluster sourced from AutoMeter. It includes a 180-mph, reverse-sweep speedometer along with an 8,000-rpm tachometer. Apart from this, there are gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level.
The best part about the cabin is the dashboard which features a unique plaque with CSX1006 embossed on it. It is also personally signed by Carroll Shelby.
The other touches include Simpson safety harnesses, plexiglass sun visors, Cobra-branded floor mats, and a fire extinguisher between the seats.
