Japan is getting a super-cool version of the Mazda CX-3, and we’re kind of jealous
by Alina Moore, on LISTEN 02:02Back in May 2021, Mazda announced that after the 2021 model year, the CX-3 and Mazda 6 will be discontinued. But, while the American market will only enjoy the CX-30 for now, in Japan the CX-3 is still big and is enjoying a lot of success. In fact, for the 2022 model year, the Japanese version of the CX-3 will see the addition of a new model to the lineup: the CX-3 Super Edgy.
Prices will range from ¥2,491,500 (about $21,800 at the current exchange rates) for the 15S Super Edgy version to ¥3,212,000 ($28,000) for the XD Super Edgy.

What makes the 2022 Mazda CX-3 Super Edgy special?
The 2022 CX-3 Super Edgy is mostly about interior updates, but the exterior offers a few distinctive features too. First of all it will be offered with a choice of four finishes, including the newly-added Platinum Quartz Metallic.
It will be combined with a glossy black paint across the wheel arches, side skirts, wing mirrors, pillars, and roof.
Most of the unique features though are offered on the inside. The CX-3 Super Edgy edition’s interior combines plush white leather for the front seats, rear seats, door panels, and lower half of the dashboard with black leather for the rest of the interior surfaces.
Copper accents also decorate the seat's backrest, the seating surface, and the air conditioner louver ring.
The center of the seats offer suede-like elements, while contrast stitching and piping give the crossover a more unique feel.
As a standard feature, the CX-3 Super Edgy will be offered with an 8-inch infotainment display, Qi wireless charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay.
