2022 Audi SQ5 TDI By ABT Sportsline
Who said a diesel can’t be a lot more fun that the maker intends it to be
by Alina Moore, on LISTEN 02:35The Audi SQ5 is already a significant upgrade over the base Q5. For example, customers in the States will get a significant upgrade of an extra 100 horsepower when choosing the SQ5 over the base Q5. In Europe, though, there are a lot of tuners that will find ways to make this difference even bigger. The last one to do so is ABT Sportsline, who is offering an upgrade kit for the SQ5 TDI - both standard and Sportback versions.

What changes were made under the hood?
While on the U.S. market the Audi SQ5 - and SQ5 Sportback - is offered with a 3.0-liter TFSI® V-6 engine, Europeans also get to enjoy a 3.0-liter V-6 diesel engine. From factory it delivers 347 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, but as you know, there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to diesel engines.
And this is where tuners like ABT Sportsline come into picture. The tuner’s latest package includes a high-tech AEC control unit (ABT Engine Control) that constantly adjusts more than 25 parameters.
The result is a total increase to 384 horsepower an 560 pound-feet of torque.
As a result, the sprint from 0 to 60 mph goes from 5.1 seconds down to 4.9 seconds, and while we have no word about the top speed, we are sure ABT removed the speed limiter and that the ABT SQ5 can hit more than 155 mph.
Are there any other changes?
Of course there are! You didn’t think ABT will work under the hood and not update the exterior look, did you? Of course, the changes are not big, but they are enough to give the SQ5 a more aggressive look. The changes include the addition of a new ABT rear wing and the ABT rear skirt set featuring a very special quartet: two ABT carbon double exhaust cover in 102 mm format.
The car was also equipped with a new set of 21-inch ABT Sport HR glossy black alloy wheels offered as standard, but there are also a few other option to choose from, including ABT GR and DR in 20 inch and the FR in 21 inch.
The new set of wheels are combined with height-adjustable suspension springs that will help lowering the car's height by 35 to 60 mm, both front and rear.
