New wheels and tires, suspension system, and body enhancements make this Roush build special

Roush Performance has come up with its version of the 2021 Ford F-150. There are aesthetic upgrades, suspension system upgrades, and some changes inside the cabin. While the package seems pretty straight-forward without any major mechanical changes, Roush has limited it to just two trims from the lineup, that too when equipped with the V-8 mill and four-wheel-drive system. Roush has priced it at a little under $18,000, which obviously excludes the cost of the donor vehicle.

What Makes The Roush F-150 Special?

On the outside, the truck features the signature Roush grille with marker lights. A bumper cover sits on top of the stock bumper to give the truck a more muscular look. There are wide-body fender flares with integrated accent lights and functional air vents on the side. They add 2.8 inches to the width. The truck rides on 33-inch General Grabber A/TX tires wrapped around 20-inch gray color Roush wheels. Custom Roush puddle lamps have also been equipped here. Roush has said that six exclusive colors will be offered on the truck, but hasn’t mentioned what shades they are.

On the inside, there aren’t a lot of changes, per se. The stuff that’s new here includes:

  • Roush instrument cluster
  • Serialized badging
  • Custom pedals with rubberized grips
  • Roush-branded WeatherTech floor liners

You can, however, spend some extra moolah and opt for the leather upholstery and a Ready Package, which includes a steel center console vault with a four-digit combo lock and the off-road utility kit that holds a host of trail recovery tools.

This Roush package will be offered only on the XLT and Lariat trims equipped with a four-wheel-drive system and the 5.0-liter V-8 engine under the hood. The Coyote mill makes 400 horses and 410 pound-feet of torque, which is five horses and 10 pound-feet of torque more than the stock 2020 F-150 iteration. Power is sent to the wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Roush hasn’t made any changes to the powertrain.

The tuner has swapped the stock suspension system for a 2.0 Performance Series suspension system. It adds two inches of ground clearance to the front end. A performance cat-back exhaust system is also in place that makes the truck sound a lot more muscular and throaty.

There are a couple of other packages on offer, too. One is the Performance brake package which comes with six-piston Alcon front brakes with 13.7-inch rotors and high-friction pads. It also includes an active control exhaust system. This features integrated electronic valves that can be switched between exhaust modes via a switch mounted on the console. There’s also an Extreme Off-Road Upgrade pack which will be available later on and will include suspension and tire upgrades.

How Much Does It Cost?

Roush has priced this package at $16,745. The 2021 Ford F-150 XLT starts at $35,050 and the Lariat starts at $44,695. On the Lariat, the 5.0-liter V-8 engine is a $1,995 option whereas, on the Lariat, it will cost you $800.

Roush has been tweaking Ford vehicles for a very long time now, so there’s no doubt that this package will make your F-150 a capable off-roader. The tuner is accepting pre-orders for the 2021 Ford F-150 but hasn’t mentioned when the trucks will be available. The Roush F-150 will come with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
