Drag Race: Mustang Mach-E GT vs Tesla Model Y Performance - gallery

Edmunds recently pitted the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance against the Tesla Model Y Performance in a series of 1/4 mile passes and a roll race

Both these all-electric crossovers are evenly matched on power and price, with just under $1000 between them

With more power, the Mustang had the stronger launch

However, past the mid-way point, the Tesla caught up with it and passed the Mach-E

Taking the win

Just to make it fair, the pair decide to do another pass

The Mach-E has its traction control switched off for round two, to see if that makes a difference

And indeed it did. The Ford had an even stronger launch this time round

But once again, the Tesla managed to catch up with it

And there was just enough room for the Model Y to take round two as well

They decide to stage a Roll Race from 40 mph, once the pair get past the cones, however, as you can clearly see that the Model Y was clearly ahead

We don't really know what to make of this run

To sum it up, Ford has a compelling package in the Mach-E GT performance, with more power and torque
