The first new car from Lotus in a long time also happens to be the last internal combustion-engined car. Ladies and gentlemen, presenting to you, the Lotus Emira. The Emira was launched earlier this year, but the company didn’t reveal all the details about it. Since then, Lotus has given us the information in chunks, and now, we have all that we need, right from the interior and exterior details to its drivetrain and pricing specs.

When the Lotus Emira launched, we classified it as a bit of a mixed bag. We praised it for its tech-happy interior and the AMG powertrain is definitely a plus but, at the same time, there’s a little too much of that typical Lotus DNA – especially for a vehicle that marks the end of Lotus’ gas-powered lineup forever. We recently learned how much the Lotus Emira will cost and, while the flagship, V6-powered Emira First Edition will command a wallet-hitting price that nudges beyond six figures, the entry-level model is much more affordable, putting in the company of some strange competition.

It has been quite a long time since the British sports car manufacturer, Lotus brought out an all-new car. Several months ago, they released their last new model before they go hybrid and electric, the Emira, but they were keeping some crucial details close to the vest.

Lotus announced that the Emira will be its last gas-powered car, thus marking the end of an era. The Emira, the automaker’s first new car in very many years, was launched a couple of months back, but with sparse details. Fast forward to the present day, and Lotus has finally revealed some specifics.

Lotus revealed the specs and price of the Emira V-6 First Edition car. The car will make 400 horses, can be paired to either an automatic or a manual gearbox, and is priced at over $100,000. How about that!

After making us wait for over 10 years, Lotus finally unveiled its new car called the Emira. It made its debut at the 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed a couple of months back. Now, the automaker has come up with a competition-spec race car version of the Emira. Called the Lotus Emira GT4 Race Car, it comes with slimmer physique and a some added aero stuff. It’s a concept for now, but we’ll have the real deal later this year.

Okay, maybe I’m being a little dramatic, but Lotus’ final gas-powered car – the one that’s replacing the Exige, Elise, and Evora – has finally been revealed. In a nutshell, it appears to blend cues from the Evija and Evora with a newly designed rear end and a larger footprint than any of its predecessors. As a new competitor aimed at the likes of the Porsche 718 Cayman and the Alpine A110, and the last car from Lotus that won’t be electric, the Emira has a lot of expectations to live up to.
