The Audi Q7 and Mercedes GLE better watch out...
The 2019 BMW X5 has been completely redesigned for 2019 with a new, revitalized exterior look, all-new interior, tons of new technology, and even more power than before. At the time of launch, it will be offered in four different trim levels that include xDrive40i (replaces the 35i,) the xDrive50i, xDrive30d, and the M50d.
All models come standard with next-gen tech like BMW’s Live Cockpit Professional, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, larger head up display, cooled and heated cup holders, and ambient interior lighting. And, to really top things off, it’s a seven-seater with extra legroom. No good deed goes unpunished, though, as it looks like cargo room does suffer a bit.
The “SkyLounge” panorama glass roof is said to have as many as 15,000 illuminated colors. Wheel offerings range anywhere between 18 and 22-inches and an off-road package will add a special locking differential in the rear. Gasoline engines range between 340 and 462 horsepower while diesel engines range between 265 and 400 horsepower. The new, 2019 BMW X5 should go on sale in late 2018.

2020 BMW X5 M Competition - Driven
With 615 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, the BMW X5 M Competition is one of the most powerful BMWs ever made, a 5,500-pound behemoth capable of going from naught to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and do it while enveloping you in a luxurious cabin blending leather and carbon fiber. We took the X5 M Competition out for a spin because we know that it shares its engine with the M5 and the M8 Competition but we wanted to find out if it also drives like BMW’s quick sedans.
When BMW came up with the X5 over two decades ago, the unique selling proposition of the first Bavarian crossover of any kind was that it offered all the benefits of an SUV - like the added practicality, the higher driving position, and off-road ability - while staying true to the BMW ethos and thus delivering that much-coveted driving pleasure. BMW even tried to create a brand-new niche with the arrival of the X5, calling it an ’SAV’ which is something that still applies to this day, with the only difference being that, over the years, the X5 did become sportier and felt more and more like a sedan able to belie its generous dimensions.
2020 BMW X5 M
The 2020 BMW X5 M is the range-topping version of the fourth-generation X5 SUV. Unveiled in 2019, it’s the most powerful and advanced version of the midsize hauler. Sportier than ever design-wise and fitted with BMW latest tech, including semi-autonomous drive, the 2020 X5 M hides a twin-turbo, 4.4-liter V-8 under the hood. Rated at 600 horsepower, it’s a bit more potent than the old engine. But BMW also offers a 617-horsepower model under the Competition badge. related news as BMW decided to capture some attention on Twitter and channel it on one of its most spectacular products by throwing some shade at the Cybertruck.
As you know, BMW will sell you, on special request, the so-called X5 Protection VR6, a heavily armoured vehicle packing 530 horsepower and the ability to withstand gunfire coming from an AK-47. This sort of badassery allowed BMW to troll Tesla and Musk for the “armor” widows gaffe that took place during the pickup truck’s live reveal.

We knew it was bound to happen, and you knew it too. BMW has finally spilled the beans on its range-topping performance SUVs - or SAV and SAC if we are to stay true to the BMW jargon. The 2020 X5 M and 2020 X6 M mark the third-generation of high-riding M-badged models by borrowing the M5’s 591-horsepower V-8 engine to go with a long list of goodies and upgrades, so let’s check them out.
2019 BMW X5 Protection VR6
It’s been over 40 years since BMW released the 733i High Security. It was the German automaker’s first attempt at an armored vehicle. Little did anyone know, including BMW, that the 733i High Security would send Bavaria down the road to developing more personal protection vehicles. Fast forward to 2019 and Bimmer is still churning out fortresses on four wheels, this time with the fourth-generation BMW X5 SUV. Officially, this X5 carries the “Protection VR6” label. It’s a standard X5 by most measures, except that it also carries enough protection to keep its occupants safe from heavy ammunition attacks. The BMW X5 Protection VR6 is not for the faint of heart, folks. It’s designed for people who need all the extra protection they can get on the road for reasons that are probably best left unasked.

BMW is known for its elegant, capable, and good-looking vehicles, be it the sedans, SUVs, or sports cars. It’s been 20 years since the X5 was launched, and this is the fourth-gen of the SUV. However, the latest design philosophy has kind of diluted the last aspect for the majority of people. The kidney grille is not exactly a favorite, but BMW, for some reason, thinks this design will age well and is persistent to continue with it. But, thanks to companies like AC Schnitzer, these vehicles are looking quite good even in the latest iteration. AC Schnitzer got its hands on the 2019 X5 and has done magic on the SUV to make it look a lot better than what it does in stock condition. Are there any changes except for the makeover?
BMW has so far not officially revealed the X5 M and X6 M, but through several posts on Instagram by @wilcoblok, we see the X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition, the hardcore top of the range X5 and X6 models. These shots we pulled from Instagram reveal not only what the new Motorsport SUVs will look like, but also some of the special touches that BMW will apply to the more exclusive Competition versions.
BMW to Go All PHEV at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show
BMW, like any major automaker, will deploy a whole bunch of electric cars at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. This isn’t surprising us at all, but what’s interesting is that the Bavarian brand chooses to concentrate on its hybrid and electric offerings, like the highly-anticipated 330e, the 745e, and the X5 xDrive45e that will share the drivetrain with the facelifted PHEV 7er.
Is the writing on the wall for gas-powered cars? The answer may still be no, but it’s clear that every big player in the automotive world wants to prove to its customers, as well as its peers and the environmental agencies, that hybrid models and all-out electric cars represent an increasing share of its offering. BMW is a leading example, not only with its i family of electric cars but also with its growing variety of hybrids. However, for those who aren’t excited about electric motors and the like, BMW will also display the tasteful M850i Individual Night Sky model under the limelight at Geneva.
2019 BMW X5 M50d - Driven
The all-new, 2019 BMW X5 isn’t so much a new high-riding model in the Bavarian automaker’s range, but more a case of a huge grille with a big SUV attached to it. It is a very proud looking car, the new X5, and BMW really wants you to notice it because it believes it’s great vehicle that should get your attention. You don’t put this big a grille on a car you are not 100 percent confident in and after spending some time with the new X5, in top M50d diesel trim no less, I found little to fault about it. And this comes from a guy who doesn’t really like or understand the need for SUVs (it is my belief that they are a bit pointless and are usually bought to do the same job as a wagon).
I admit that when I picked up the car I wanted to start picking at faults on the quest to reach my predetermined conclusion that you’re better off buying a 5-Series wagon. But you aren’t better off necessarily because the new X5 has a lot to offer - almost car-like handling, strong performance, one of the best six-cylinder engine soundtracks ever, and limo-like passenger room and comfort levels. Plus, BMW says the latest X5 is also the best X5 ever when it comes to going off-road, not that anybody will actually take it off-road, but it’s nice to know it can. I mean it’s an SUV after all, so it should be able to take you off the beaten path whenever you feel like it.
Not this M50d with steel springs, active sway bars, and massive rims, though, as it’s better suited for on-road driving. For the first time, however, BMW is offering models that are more off-road oriented with adjustable air suspension that can increase its ride height and rough ground capability considerably. But boy is that M50d power plant good, especially with the new exhaust resonator that comes online in sport mode - it is probably one of the loudest factory diesels ever made, and I absolutely love it because of this.

It really sucks when you accidentally lock yourself out of your car, especially if you’re stuck somewhere you’d rather not be. Apparently, BMW X5 owners who underwent this ordeal may be able to place the blame on the design of their key fobs, as BMW is currently facing down a class action lawsuit for poor design of the locking function.

Following in the footsteps of Audi and Mercedes, BMW has adopted the ‘Russian Doll’ design; wherein every product basically looks the same. It feels like the cars have taken the ‘twinning’ concept way too seriously. For instance, it is hard to differentiate between the Audi A4, A6, and A8 if not for their lengths. And, this design approach is getting more and more common for brands. Maybe they use it as a ‘brand recall’ strategy, but it is getting out of hand. 2019 BMW X5 xDrive45e iPerformance
The BMW X5 xDrive45e iPerformance is the latest iteration of the company’s midsize luxury SUV. Introduced for the 2019 model year, it replaces the xDrive40e based on the previous-generation (F15) crossover.
On top of the new exterior design and interior features that come with each new generation, the xDrive45e iPerformance also boasts major changes under the hood. Not only did BMW replaced the old four-cylinder with an inline-six mill, but the hybrid drivetrain is also more powerful and delivers superior performance. The X5 also emits less CO2 than before and runs more miles on electric power alone. But more about that, as well as on how it compares with its rivals, in the review below.
2018 The BMW X5 M Avalanche by Auto-Dynamics
We are still a year or two away from the new BMW X5 M launch. Yet, the old one is still in excellent shape with its striking V-8 and intimidating looks. That’s why we are seeing it again coming out of a tuner’s garage. In this case, from the garage of Auto-Dynamics from Poland.

The 2019 BMW X5’s Online Configurator is Going to Take Some Getting Used To
The BMW X5 has arrived and as expected with models of its status, so too has its online configurator. BMW X5 - A Formidable Foe Four Times in a Row
It is a war out there. Not the War of the Worlds, but a war among SUVs - big ones, fast ones, mean ones and appealing ones. In production since 2013, the third-generation BMW X5 entered its final year on the market in 2018. With production scheduled to end this year, the Germans launched the fourth-generation SUV. BMW Screwed Up Big Time with the New X5
Hey, look, the brand-new BMW X5 is here! I know, it’s yesterday news, everyone has seen it. Well, I’m not exactly anxious to get up early in the morning so yeah, I’m usually late on the news. But here’s something no one appears to have noticed yet: the SUV’s trunk is now smaller. And not by a little bit, it’s significantly smaller, despite the X5 being slightly bigger.
The 2019 BMW X5’s Electric Boot Cover is the Definition of Useless Technology
The 2019 BMW X5 Grew In Almost Every Way, But Doesn’t Deliver Where it Maters Most
BMW’s quest to make the new X5 SUV look sexier may have come at the expense of cargo space taking a significant hit. Spec data from the X5’s launch revealed that the minimum cargo space dropped from 35.8 cubic feet to 22.8 cubic feet but even more alarming, the maximum cargo space also dropped from 76.7 cubic feet to a paltry 65.7 cubic feet. Even with the rear seats in their full and upright positions, cargo space also dropped from 35.8 cubic feet to 31.7 cubic feet. Do the math, and that’s four cubic feet less than the previous model, representing 11 percent less space compared to the model it’s replacing.

2019 BMW X5 Unveiled
The fourth-generation BMW X5 has arrived, and it looks to bring new exterior styling, a refreshed interior, updated engines, and the latest technology features. The reveal comes mere hours after a slew of official pictures mysteriously “leaked” onto the Internet, and now, we’ve got the official specs to fill in the gaps.
Buyers can get theirs in two different trim levels, including the X5 xDr40i and the X5 xDr50i. Dimensionally, the new X5 is larger than before, with a longer wheelbase that adds an extra 1.6 inches over the outgoing model. It’s also longer overall by 1.1 inches, plus 2.6 inches wider and an inch taller, all of which should enhance the crossover’s road presence and interior room.
The new X5 looks different too, thanks to a restyled front end and those beefier proportions. Standard exterior features include Adaptive LED headlights and 19-inch alloy wheels, while laser headlights and 20-inch M-branded alloys are both optional.
Inside, the new layout seems to angle all the instrumentation towards the driver’s position, while electrically adjustable sports seats are standard. Additional M gear, such as a new sports steering wheel, new pedals, and trim bits are also offered.
As for the tech front, standard spec throws in basics like Blind Spot Detection, Frontal Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning. There’s also a 12.3-inch instrument cluster as part of the latest iDrive system.
Two turbocharged gas engines are offered for motivation, including a six-cylinder and a V-8, with 335 horses made by the former and 456 horses made by the latter. The 0-to-60 mph sprint is completed in 5.3 seconds with the ‘six and 4.6 seconds with the ‘eight. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, while AWD puts the power to the ground.
Electronically controlled dampers keep the new X5 shiny side up, while Integral Active Steering is an available option. Expect a vast array of settings and systems to customize yours as you see fit. There’s even an Off-Road Package, if that’s your kind of thing.
No official pricing was announced, but expect the 2019 BMW X5 to slot in at around $60,000.

The Next-Gen BMW X5 Will Debut This Year be Sold as a 2019 Model
BMW has followed a predictive trend with the X5, keeping the first- and second-gen models on the market for just six years. So, even if we hadn’t started seeing spy shots of the third-gen, G05, X5 being put through the paces, we still had a feeling that we would see it by at least 2020. As new spy shots came in, it became painfully obvious we might see it sooner than expected, and that has now been confirmed by none other than BMW Group CEO, Harald Kruger, at the 98th Annual General Meeting this week. In short, he not only confirmed that we would see the new X5 this year, but we would see it this month. So, May 2018 will officially go down as the month of the X5.

A report from the New York Post puts BMW in the crosshairs of a now-disgruntled customer who lost one of his thumbs after a self-closing door on his X5 decided to shut itself, severing his finger in the process. The irony in all of this is that the feature is known as SCAD, or “Soft Closing Automatic Door.” I guess you could say that’s there was nothing soft about this particular closing, huh?

Another day, another holiday-themed commercial from BMW. Remember the dad who ruined his daughter’s Christmas by getting too caught up with his BMW M3 pick-up’s performance abilities? Well, the German automaker has released a follow-up video featuring Santa Claus, or at least a different version of him, driving a brand-new BMW X5 M.
BMW Recalling 1 Million Cars in the U.S. over Fire Risk
BMW is recalling a whopping one million vehicles in North America over two separate issues involving fire risks. Both recalls include cars produced from 2006 to the 2011 model years. One recall covers 670,000 3 Series models from 2006 to 2011 model years, while the second recall is issued for 740,000 cars from 2007 to 2011 model years. The latter includes the 128i, 3 Series, 5 Series, X3, X5, and Z4 models. Although these figures amount to more than 1.4 million units, BMW says the recalls overlap and cover about one million examples. Nearly all cars have been sold in the United States, while about 15,000 are from Canada. The recalls may expand to other countries in the future, but no specific announcement has been made as of this writing.
The first recall for the 3 Series models only will address a wiring issue for heating and air conditioning system. According to the company’s report for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the systems may overheat and could increase the risk of a fire in the car. BMW has reportedly been monitoring the issue since 2008 and has made some improvements in 2011, but some incidents from 2015 and 2016, which led to injuries, prompted a mass recall. The second recall is about a valve heater issue that may cause damage to the engine compartment. No injuries or crashes related to this problem have been reported so far. All cars involved will have their wiring harnesses and valve heaters replaced at BMW dealers, free of charge.

BMW Releases Black Fire Editions For The X6 M And The X5 M
If there were ever two models that served as pioneers of their kind in their respective markets, the BMW X5 and the BMW X6 are as good examples as you can find. The X5 was introduced in 1999, becoming one of the first premium SUVs to hit the modern automotive market. 10 years later, the X6 followed suit, ushering in a new sub-segment that has come to be known as the
SUVs. Today, both the X5 and X6 are still soldiering on, and BMW is doing its part to keep models fresh with the release of the X5 M and X6 M Black Fire Editions.
Developed specifically for the high-performance M versions of both models, the Black Fire Editions provide a more menacing visual profile for both the X5 M and X6 M. The upgrades included are more cosmetic in nature than anything else, highlighted by the use of a Sapphire Black Metallic paint finish on the SUVs’ bodywork. The black treatment is actually spread throughout, covering significant spaces in both the exterior and interior. The end result certainly speaks to how Bimmer intended these two SUVs to turn out as both special edition models look about as sinister as anything we’ve seen from either of them in the past.

2016 BMW X5 M Typhoon by G-Power
A little over a month ago, BMW tuner extraordinaire G-Power presented a new engine upgrade for the BMW X5 M. It was noticeably missing the “Typhoon” moniker since it lacked any of the visual upgrades that the name comes from. Well, better late than never, right? Because the new Typhoon kit for the high-performance luxury SUV has arrived and it packs the same amount of power upgrades – 750 horsepower and 723 pound-feet of torque – as the the previous kit to go along with an extensive body kit.
The cosmetic upgrades are the big difference here and they make a ridiculous difference in both the X5 M’s stance and appearance. It also makes for a lighter SUV, which should pay dividends when the vehicle is blowing through the highways of the world. I’m holding off on calling it a visual upgrade because not everybody may find it appetizing to the eyes. But for those who appreciate a jacked-looking BMW X5 M with matching performance credentials, this new Typhoon kit is a feast for the senses.
Be prepared to spend, though, because G-Power’s programs don’t come cheap. That’s especially true for the Typhoon program because the wide body kit alone will cost you the equivalent of a hot hatchback

2016 BMW X5 M by G-Power
The BMW X5 is now in its third generation, but the X5 M is only in its second generation? What gives? Well, for those who don’t know, BMW didn’t start building the X5 M until 2010 when the X5 was in the middle of the second-generation run. As late as the X5 M was to the party, it has still proven to be a very popular performance version of the X5, so much so that it has received tuning programs from some of the most noted BMW aftermarket specialists in the business today. G-Power is one of those firms and, recently, it unveiled a three-stage engine upgrade program for the X5 M that takes the SUV’s output to as high as 750 horsepower.
The German tuner is also offering two lesser upgrades, even though the use of “less” in this context is extremely loose. In other words, G-Power’s Stage 1 and Stage 2 kits are also packed with extra power, and enough of it to give the X5 M a more dangerous punch off the block. But, this kit isn’t all about power, either. The German tuner is also offering a new set of wheels and modifications to the SUV’s chassis and suspension, designed to handle and accommodate the changes made to its twin-turbo V-8 engine.
If you thought a performance model like the BMW X5 M doesn’t need upgrades like this one, prepare to be proven wrong. The SUV’s potential is still vast enough for an aftermarket tuner like G-Power to unlock it. It’s no wonder that when the challenge arrived to do it, the German tuner was more than up to the task.

The X5 first hit American shores in the 2000 model year as BMW’s first-ever journey into the realm of SUVs. The German automaker followed it up with the X3, and now as we near the 2016 model year, BMW has grown a healthy selection of SUVs to choose from. A new addition to the X5 lineup is coming for 2016, in the form of the X5 xDrive40e plug-in hybrid, as BMW tries to stay ahead of the times with this fuel-sipping people-hauler.
Combining a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to create over 300 horsepower seems like a wonderful plan on paper. However, with a performance hybrid like the 2015 Cayenne S E-Hybrid already on the market, and the 2016 Audi Q7 e-tron 3.0 TDI set to deliver insane hybrid diesel mileage and performance to Europe, is the X5 xDrive40e too little too late?

Two people driving a BMW X5 in South Africa are very fortunate to be alive after a botched carjacking by a group of men posing as police officers. Rekord East, the local newspaper for Pretoria East, reports that the white BMW 1 Series hatchback was equipped with blue lights and the men were wearing jackets, bulletproof vests and had weapons that made the couple believe they were police officers, and most of the terrifying incident was caught on video by an eyewitness.
By the time the video starts, the male passenger had already been placed in the back seat of the 1 Series, and the woman was attempting to get away from two of the men. Initially, the eyewitnesses thought the carjackers/kidnappers were legitimately the police and commented that woman shouldn’t try to get away. It soon became clear that the situation was more serious than they had imagined.
At some point, the woman from the X5 realizes the men are not police officers, and she tries to run away before being dragged back to her vehicle, punched and then thrown in the back seat. The women recording the video then realize something is wrong when the two cars just begin to drive off and the man jumps from the moving hatchback. This creates a diversion and the woman escapes from the back seat of the X5 and she runs toward the witnesses, who are now on the phone with the real police.
The car speeds off with all the men in the car, and the X5 and its occupants left behind. The report goes on to say that two shots were fired in this incident, but there were no injuries reported. Police later found the 1 Series abandoned with all of the weapons and police equipment still inside. It doesn’t sound like any of the men have been caught.
With 2014 being officially known in the automotive world as the "year of the recalls," it is no wonder that certain carmakers are trying and steer away from being put in the same boat as those offering cars with Takata airbags. BMW is one of those brands, with the Bavarian automaker currently trying to pass a voluntary recall as a much fancier "customer care package." The recall involves just about every BMW with the N63 engine ever built, although probably not all cars will need to have the same amount of work done to them.
For those unfamiliar with BMW engine terminology, the N63 powerplant is the twin-turbocharged, 4.4-liter V-8 with 402 horsepower that saw use in every 5 Series, 6 Series, 7 Series, X5, and X6 model that have names ending with "50i" and were manufactured between 2008 and 2013. Having the service bulletin number B001314, the recall may take several days for each vehicle involved and could include replacement of the fuel injectors, mass airflow sensors, battery, crankcase vent lines, fuel pressure sensor, the engine’s vacuum pump and last, but certainly not least, replacement of the timing chain.
If all that didn’t sound like enough, all cars using this exact variant of the N63 engine will no longer be a part of the BMW long-life service intervals, instead requiring a service check every 12 months or 10,000 driven miles. Everything is not as grim as it sounds though, since it seems that affected BMW owners will receive a replacement car for the time that their vehicles are in the shop. Plus, the carmaker will also offer to buy-back the affected vehicle and offer a new one at a discounted price.

The high-performance BMW X5 M was launched for the 2010 model year, four years into the SUV’s second-generation model and 10 years since the midsize, luxury SUV made its global debut. Compared to its less insane sibling, the X5 M received a more aggressive exterior, a host of bespoke interior features a more powerful engine. While the X5’s 4.4-liter V-8 was rated at 400 ponies, the X5 M’s delivered an astounding 555 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque, making it one of the most powerful SUVs in production. The X5 M was impressively fast, needing only 4.5 seconds to hit 60 mph from a standing start. As we venture into the 2015 model year, the X5 M is receiving the same exterior and interior updates as the facelifted X5, plus a few additional ponies to its tried-and-true eight-banger.
The revised X5 M is set to make its global debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show in November, where it will be displayed alongside its sportier brother, the X6 M. Read on to find out what’s new for the X5 M.

BMW is preparing to launch a new version of its popular X5 SUV, the F15 Security Plus. To the casual observer, nothing is amiss with the X5, but to a firearm-wielding criminal bent on theft or worse, the F15 Security Plus is a rolling safehouse disguised as a BMW.
BMW will officially debut the armored X5 at the upcoming Moscow Auto Show next week, though the original concept made its first appearance in Frankfurt last year. The F15 Security Plus is designed to meet the VR6 protection level, meaning attacks from small arms fire like the AK-47, AR-15, and most hand guns will have no effect on the passenger’s health (well, save for panic or heart attacks).
Ballistic panels and glass aren’t the only modifications BMW has done to the F15. The chassis has been strengthened while the electronic management systems and brakes have been upgraded to deal with the added weight. Power comes from the twin-turbocharged, 4.4-liter V-8 making 445 horsepower and 480 pound feet of torque.
This isn’t BMW’s first in-house armored vehicle. The German automaker has been producing armored versions of its 7 Series for nearly two decades. Currently BMW is producing the VR7-rated 7 Series rated to protect against more lethal threats like explosives and higher-powered rifles.
BMW will also offer a lighter, VR4-rated X5 SUV for customers looking for basic protection but with minimal changes in vehicle driving dynamics. More details are slated for release once the vehicle debuts in Moscow.

Car wrapping is a delicate art that sometimes requires restraint. Lose it and your work becomes a little too abrasive. Hold off on the art and the product could look pedestrian. There are only a few companies in the world that can expertly strike a balance between the two and one of them is Fostla.De. The German tuner is one of the best in the business at this and recently, the company presented a new program for the BMW X5 that embodied the tuner’s affinity for car wrapping. See, the tuner’s program for the X5 comes with an anodized matte-red car wrap to go with a significant performance boost.
We appreciate the fact that Fostla prepared a comprehensive upgrade for the X5, but it’s hard to notice them all when all that red is staring you in the face. But hey, the program does come with a significant performance boost, which is more than we can say for other car-wrapping specialists who don’t venture into the the engine compartment.
The entire kit costs €8,500, which is about $10,700 based on the exchange rate on 7/30/2014. It’s a nice program for the X5, although its pretty steep price tag might dissuade some customers.

The third-generation BMW X5 is finally getting its aftermarket dues. Kelleners Sport gets the credit for this impressive program, blending some aerodynamic goodies with new wheels and an extensive engine update.
It’s hard to downplay how important these kits are for SUVs like the X5. For the most part, tuners can only go so far with installing new components on these types of models. What’s more important is how tuners are able to improve on the performance end, which really is the heart of every tuning program. Kelleners Sport achieved that, thanks to a variety of engine kits designed to give various trims of the X5 the extra oomph some owners need.
This is by no means the most impressive kit we’ve seen on a BMW X5, but when it comes to offering a comprehensive list of upgrades on all sections of the SUV, Kelleners Sport did a pretty good job of checking off many items on that list.

Every year, BMW brings a number of its vehicles to RETTmobil, considered as the best European expo for emergency vehicles. This year, the Bavarian automaker is doing it again with a handful of models that are built specifically for this occasion. One of these models is the BMW X5 xDrive30d Paramedic Vehicle, which gives a whole new meaning to a luxury SUV ambulance.
The BMW X5 xDrive30d Paramedic Vehicle isn’t your ordinary X5. It’s actually been fully equipped to serve a specific purpose. The exterior colors pretty much say it all, right? The white base of the X5 makes way for orange graphics throughout the body. Custom-issued emergency lights sit on top of the X5 and just under the kidney grilles, further showcasing the breadth of customization BMW undertook to turn this SUV into a full-fledged paramedic vehicle.
The interior of this X5 xDrive30d wasn’t shown in any of the photos, but to serve its purpose, we can surmise that BMW removed most of the accessories from a standard X5 and slapped on a host of life-saving equipment. It should also have tremendous amounts of space and an automatic tailgate that makes it more accessible in times of emergency.
Another important element of this paramedic vehicle is its engine. In this case, this X5 comes with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line diesel engine that produces 258 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, more than enough power to be of good use in emergency situations. It’s also been equipped with xDrive all-wheel drive, allowing it to successfully navigate through the toughest of terrain.
The BMW X5 xDrive30d Paramedic Vehicle is one of seven vehicles BMW is bringing to ReTTmobil. But we’re guessing that lots of eyes will be on this one.

The 2014 New York International Auto Show is nearly upon us, with the media preview days set to kick off on April 16 before the grand event opens its doors to the public on April 18. More than 50 vehicles will be on display at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, just about anything from city cars to heavy-duty trucks and track-prepped race cars. About 14 global debuts are expected to happen at NYIAS, with six more vehicles to show their metal to North American enthusiasts for the very first time.
Dodge, Ford, Acura, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche are all set to shows us their latest creations, be it new-generation cars or facelifted versions of existing automobiles. As usual, we’ll be providing you with tons of information from New York, so be on the lookout for more details and in-depth reviews on the most recent apparitions on the automotive horizon.
Meanwhile, we compiled a list with the most important cars and SUV set to be unveiled next week. While some are still under wraps, others have been revealed and detailed ahead of their world debut.

Much has being made about the BMW Concept X5 eDrive following its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show last year. Shortly after its debut, a prototype was seen testing out on the road. Now, a refreshed version of the concept is headed to the 2014 New York Auto Show.
Whether this is a production model labeled as a concept or simply another prototype is a question that only BMW can answer. For the most part, there have been a few changes from the first concept we saw back in September last year.
What we do know is that there appears to be a future for the Concept X5 eDrive at some point. It may not be in the coming months, but years down the line, we expect this vehicle to be out on the road. The hybrid, luxury SUV market is still growing, and its only a matter of time before BMW jumps into the picture and announces its plans to be a strong competitor in it.
