If you’re a regular viewer of ‘DragTimes’, you’d be aware of how fast Brooks’ McLaren 765LT is. He’s got another really quick car in his garage – a Ferrari SF90 Stradale. We’ve seen it go up against his Model S Plaid in the past, but this time, we get to see it take on the McLaren 765LT, which has been very dominant in most of the races it has competed in. Now, finally, these two cars come face-to-face for a showdown, which Brooks says is the “closest race we’ve ever had” on the channel. Which car do you think is going to win here?

Brooks from ‘DragTimes’ took his Ferrari SF90 Stradale to the drag strip for a fight against a McLaren 720S. The 720S isn’t stock. It features upgraded intake, downpipes, and is tuned to make close to 900 horses at the wheel. This puts the power outputs very close to the SF90 Stradale’s. Do you think the British can one-up the Italian hybrid beast here, or will the latter prevail?

Ever since the Tesla Model S Plaid arrived, it has taken the drag racing scene by storm. The mighty fast EV has downed big names like the Lamborghini Huracan EVO, the McLaren 765 LT, the Dodge Demon, the Nissan GT-R, and even the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, to name a few. Now, the McLaren 720S Spider took it upon itself to avenge the humiliation the Plaid has caused to those cars, and it has successfully done it. All hail the McLaren 720S Spider!

In this week’s drag-race special, CarWow pits some top-tier European exotics against each other. We have the U.K with the Mclaren 765 LT vs Italy with the Ferrari F8 and the mighty Porsche 991 GT2 RS representing Germany, for today’s shoot-out. Let’s see which one of these supercars makes it top.

For a while, we have been hearing about Porsche and Audi planning to enter Formula One. Volkswagen has been trying to find ways of gaining a foothold in the F1 racing series, since 2010 and now, the German automotive giant might finally be on to something. With recent, false reports of Audi’s acquisition of McLaren, we deemed it wise to shed light on matters.

Cars are one of the human inventions that most captivated man’s imagination. This is especially true for supercars, which is why many people compare their seductive curves to those of a beautiful woman. Given that supercars (and by extension cars) can be viewed as living beings, as opposed to a means of transport, it’s only fair that they have the appropriate names.

Since McLaren returned to making road cars, their names seemed like a bit of an afterthought. The main offender was the MP4-12C, which according to some journalists sounded like it belonged to a fax machine. But all that is about to change, as McLaren recently filed trademarks for three non-numeric names.

In the latest Hoonigan showdown of THIS vs THAT it’s yet another gas vs electric face-off, where a tuned McLaren 720 S that produces 1000 horsepower, takes on the mighty Tesla Model S Plaid, which is the fastest production car ever.

On September 12, Daniel Ricciardo claimed a sensational victory during the 2021 Italian Grand Prix. Even if this was his eighth victory in Formula One, it was his first victory as a McLaren driver. Actually, he brought McLaren’s first victory since the Brazil GP in 2012.

To celebrate, McLaren will launch a limited edition 720S. It will only be offered in Australia, will be of course named Daniel Ricciardo Edition 720S, and was designed in cooperation with McLaren Special Operations (MSO).

Lewis Hamilton becomes the first driver in Formula 1 history to win 100 races. This win though came with some luck as the rain gods opened up the heavens in the final stages of the 2021 Russian Grand Prix. Mercedes for once took the right call in bringing Hamilton in and switching him onto intermediate tires.

After that, it was just a matter of hunting down race leader Lando Norris who was dominant all weekend to clinch the win. Having been in the sport for the better part of 14 years, the seven-time world champion looks relentless and now is aiming for an unprecedented eighth title, as the man continues to break records.

The folks at Officially Gassed - OG have come up with yet another cars vs superbike drag race. To make it even more interesting, all three vehicles are far from stock this time. There’s a tuned Kawasaki Ninja H2 taking on a tuned Porsche 911 Turbo S and McLaren 720S. All of them have their pros and cons getting into the race, so, which car will you place your bets on?

Brooks from DragTimes brought two of his best vehicles on the drag strip for a face-off. The contenders are a Tesla Model S Plaid and a McLaren 765 LT. The Plaid is invincible, but the McLaren is no slouch. The 765 LT was the quickest production car to a quarter-mile before the Plaid arrived, taking just 9.3 seconds at 150+ mph. So, this will be an interesting match-up. From the looks of it, the Plaid might claim the bragging rights, but could the McLaren score some upset victories?

McLaren’s lineup seems to be as diverse as ever, with 16 road-going versions currently on sale including the Spider versions. However, Hagerty has commissioned TheSmokingTire co-host, Zack Klapman, to explain why the McLaren 720 Spider is possibly the best supercar currently on sale. And what better way to lay down his argument than to take the mid-engine supercar for a drive on a great road with plenty of corners?

High-horsepower drag races are always a thrill to watch. Even more so to participate in, but instead, I am sitting here writing about it. In any case, it’s always interesting to see which drivetrain layout is best at a certain power level, and once again, Carwow happily obliges. In this case, we have three cars with over 1,000 horsepower that differ in the way they deliver power to the ground – a Nissan GT-R, Audi R8, and a McLaren 720S.

The McLaren F1 was unveiled in May 1992 and was the company’s first road-going production car. The idea was born in the late 1980s, when Gordon Murray, the technical director of McLaren’s Formula One, began sketching the F1 as a three-seat supercar. Appointed as head of McLaren Cars in 1991, Murray convinced Ron Dennis to build the vehicle and played a key role in the design of the F1. It was unlike any other supercar launched up to that point. It had a race-inspired design, a three-seat configuration with the driver seat in the middle, and a comfortable ride for a vehicle of its kind. It was also the first production car to use a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and the first to bring high-tech and expensive materials such as titanium, magnesium, Kevlar, and gold under the same roof.

Not only powerful and quick, the F1 was also the world’s fastest production car. Its record endured from 1992 until 2005, when Bugatti unleashed the ludicrous Veyron. The F1 spawned a couple of special-edition models such as the LM and the GT, but it was also used as a base for the GTR race car. Essentially a standard F1 with aerodynamic improvements, the GTR went on to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in its first year on the race track.

Some 25 years have passed since its introduction and the F1 is already considered a classic. Usually changing owners for millions of dollars, the F1 is one of the very few multi-million-dollar supercars built in the 1990s.

A McLaren dealer based in Beverly Hills, California has commissioned McLaren Special Operations or MSO, to create a one-off Speedtail, that pays homage to one of McLaren’s earliest prototypes of the car.

McLaren has followed up on the 765LT by introducing a drop-top version called the 765LT Spider. The 765LT came out as the range-topping model in the company’s Super Series family. It shared its DNA with the 720S, but made more power, came with an aero-focused body, and featured a lot of carbon fiber components. The 765LT Spider is a convertible version of this beast and is limited to 765 examples, just like the standard coupe. It will start at a shade under $400,000.
