With the pandemic still looming over our heads, 2021 was a pretty action-packed year for the auto industry. Sure, you had challenges, with automakers having to contend with issues like chip shortages, causing delays to consumers. But regardless, the show had to go on and we got some pretty cool cars making their debut, predominantly towards the latter half of 2021.

Let’s get one thing out of the way, 2021 really was also the year, when the market as a whole began to embrace EV’s and you could see several automakers both the legacy as well as EV startups bring several new models to market. Having said that, we did see some pretty cool ICE cars, also make their debut. Now there were several cars that made headlines this year, it was very difficult to pick out the best ones, but the cars on this list definitely stood out. Here’s our list of some of the most highly anticipated and important cars that were unveiled in 2021.

The Nissan Z finally made its official debut on 18th August 2021 and you will be able to order yours in spring 2022. With this in mind, a question you may be asking is “should I wait for the updated version?” The Nissan Z, like all other cars, will eventually receive a facelift. Although we can only guess how an updated version of the car would look like, it’s common knowledge that facelifted versions fix all (or at least some) imperfections of new models. However, this may not necessarily be the case with the Nissan Z, so is there really a need to wait a few years to get one?

It goes without saying that the Nissan Z is one of the most anticipated vehicles this year. The seventh generation of the Japanese performance coupe just made its official debut. The 2023 Nissan Z is the next chapter in the history of the Fairlady Z. With this in mind, let’s take a look at all those that came before it and trace the evolution of the iconic model.

Nissan unveiled the all-new fifth-generation (R53) Pathfinder back in February. It was scheduled to go on sale in the summer. Well, the wait is finally over. The Pathfinder went on sale earlier this month.

This model has been overhauled from the ground up. It receives a far more rugged exterior and a modern yet functional interior. There are four trims to choose from. S, SL, SV, and top-spec Platinum.

The upcoming GT-R has to be one of the most anticipated super sports cars in recent times. Nissan has been working on a complete model redesign for its flagship sports car for a while now. Looking back at Nissan’s history, the Skyline GT-R, which has long been the icon of Nissan’s sports cars lineup, is currently in the third generation of models with the GT-R name, following the first generation from 1969 to 1973 and the second generation from 1989 to 2002.

The 2022 Nissan Z is currently one of the hottest cars around, even before it has actually gone on sale. After 13 years of milking the 370Z, the Japanese brand has finally come up with a new Z-car. The formula is the same – two seats, rear-wheel-drive, a powerful engine up front, and a manual gearbox (unless you get the automatic). Essentially, it’s a proper old-school sports car. That said, a known fact is that the new Z will carry a lot of stuff over from the 370Z. In the minds of some, this hardly justifies the purchase of the new Z, but we are here to tell you why using bits from the 370Z is actually a very good thing!

Automakers, in general, often make decisions that change the course of their respective histories. We don’t often see these decisions in public, but every so often, concept cars play the role of avatars, giving us a peek at what could’ve been had a specific automaker decided to greenlight some of these concepts. There’s a laundry list of concept cars that never made it to production — and probably altered the history of some brands — but we’re here to shine the spotlight on one particular concept that could’ve altered the trajectory of the automaker that developed it. This is the Nissan Mid4, an experimental sports car that Nissan developed in the mid-1980s to compete against the Ferraris and Porsches of that era. Two concepts were introduced, but neither made it to production, leaving everyone with a big bowl of “what if” on their hands. What if Nissan launched the Mid4 as intended? What would the automaker look like now? We’ll never know the answers to these questions, but, rest assured, Nissan wouldn’t be the Nissan that we known now if the Mid4 came to life.

We will get a new Nissan Z-car. The new Nissan Z car is due for a reveal in the coming years, and some suggest we may even see it at the next Tokyo Motor Show or at NAIAS in 2019. Mind you, this information is yet to be confirmed, but we already know that Nissan is working on a replacement for the 370Z. I am telling you again - the new Nissan Z car will come. For me, this is a huge deal as I really liked the 370Z in its purest, least expensive form. Ignore my emotions from now on as I try to elaborate on what the new Nissan Z car should be. Believe me, so many rumors circulate on the Internet that it is almost impossible to separate right from wrong and truth from deception. In that regard, I am going to give you a rundown of the most logical solutions Nissan may employ for the creation of the new Z car.

There are a lot of benefits in buying a pre-owned car. Instead of being stuck on a particular segment due to budget constraints, you can actually choose a car from the higher tiers when you look at the used market. You don’t have to worry about the depreciation hit in the car as well. The Nissan R35 GT-R has been roaming the earth and its darker corners for more than ten years. Considering that the usual life cycle for a car is six or seven years at the most, the R35 GT-R is overdue for a successor. It shows too. The car itself cannot find more than 50 or 60 new buyers each month in the U.S. Things are not looking much better in Japan either, however, Nissan doesn’t seem to be in a rush to reveal a replacement. Latest rumors from the company suggest we will see the next-gen R36 Nissan GT-R sometime in the early 2020s. The car is apparently on the drawing boards, with the engineers now doing their magic to contemplate what the new Nissan design boss Alfonso Albaisa called “the fastest super sports car in the world.”

In 2018, after eight years on sale, Nissan produced the one-millionth Juke in its Sunderland plant. Throughout its short life, the quirky little crossover became seriously successful and, whether you like it or not, the second generation Juke is in the cards. Not only in the cards, but Nissan is close to finishing its development. I expect it to debut later in 2019 or early 2020. Unlike the previous generation Juke, the new one will employ novel technology introduced with the CMF-B platform from Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. It is the same platform used for the construction of the latest Renault Clio which means that the new Nissan Juke will support a hybrid system. If Nissan grows some balls, it could offer the Juke in an all-electric guise too.

The National Insurance Crime Bureau released the data for the most stolen cars in the U.S. in 2017. While the number of thefts saw a rise of 1 percent over 2016, capping at 773,139 motor vehicle thefts across the country, the likelihood of car theft is far higher in some areas than in others. The world of EVs is ever growing, and as we near a time when there will be no gas to fill our tanks, we realized some of the world’s best-sounding and glorious engines will have to be ditched in favor of electric power.
