Hennessey Performance is celebrating Christmas by delivering Christmas trees as fast as possible. The company’s previous sleigh, a Jeep Trackhawk, managed to deliver it by touching speeds of up 181 mph. But, this time, they want to get it done even faster. So, they’ve upgraded their sleigh to an Audi RS6 Avant that’s been tuned to make 800 reindeer; err., I mean 800 horses. They tried the same with a tuned Porsche 911 Turbo S recently, but it failed. But, the Audi RS6 Avant managed to break the record and is now officially Hennessey’s fastest Christmas tree transporter!

The folks at ‘Carwow’ brought two Ford Mustangs to the drag strip. One of them is the 760-horsepower Shelby Mustang GT500, and the other, a Clive Sutton Mustang that makes 850 horses. Can the Sutton-tuned Mustang get an easy win, or will the Shelby GT500 defy the odds and pin its rival down? Let’s find out.

Remember the famous Christmas lights scene from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”? Well, the Griswolds reunited last year after two decades to reprise that scene, with the only change being the addition of a Ford Mustang Mach-E this time. Ford roped in Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo to play Clark Griswold and Ellen from the Christmas-themed movie. Do you the Griswolds managed to have a drama-free Christmas this time at least?

Ferrari launched the F8 Tributo as the 488 GTB’s successor in 2019. It came with the 488 Pista’s drivetrain and underpinnings, but slot itself as an entry-level supercar, unlike the track-ready model. German aftermarket company Novitec quickly snapped the 2020 model year of the F8 Tributo and came out with its own iteration of it, which consisted of a body kit, new wheels, an engine tune-up, etc. Seeing the popularity, Novitec came up with one for the 2021 F8 Tributo as well.

Now, the company has come another version of the 2021 F8 Tributo called the F8 N-Largo. This limited-edition model comes with a new set of wheels, an engine upgrade, and a widebody kit.

Sleeper cars and trucks are probably the best vehicles you see on the road. As typical an underdog move this is, it sure increases the surprise factor multifold. The latest sleeper truck that we came across is this Ford F-150 that makes 1,200 horsepower! It even proves its prowess by humiliating a Corvette Z06. Oh, the fun the driver must have every single day!

BMW and its M division are gearing up for a busy 2022. It’s got quite a lot of vehicles lined up for debut, like the M2, the M3 Touring, the XM, and even the iX M60. Amidst all this, we now get news that the performance arm of the German automaker is planning for a special vehicle. This is rumored to be a special edition of the BMW M4 to commemorate BMW M’s 50th anniversary. But, do you think the company will mark its Golden Jubilee with just another M4?

While we are desperately waiting for the Bronco Raptor, aftermarket companies are offering us alternatives to keep us happy until then. Roush Performance announced an R Series kit for the Bronco that will turn this off-roader into, well, an even wilder off-roader! The kit brings around aesthetic as well as performance upgrades for the Bronco.

The folks at Carwow came up with yet another interesting mix of cars for a series of races. The contenders this time were three Porsches, namely, the 992 911 Turbo S, the 991 911 GT2 RS, and the 992 911 GT3. The Turbo S and the GT2 RS have twin turbos, unlike the naturally aspirated GT3, but only the Turbo S had an all-wheel-drive system here. With so many factors playing a role, which car do you think will come out with bragging rights?

The Nissan Frontier has been a trusted workhorse for its owners for a very long time. The truck has been as reliable as it can get. Last year, a Chicago-based delivery driver, Brian Murphy, clocked one million miles on it! However, Nissan took the ‘don’t fix if it ain’t broke’ philosophy a little too seriously. At a time when automakers come up with significant changes even in facelifts every year, Nissan retained the same design language on the Frontier for 15 years! But, for the new, third-gen 2022 model, we get a revamped design that puts it in line with the modern trucks. The company introduced a new engine and gearbox for the previous model year and the same has been carried over this time as well.

The Audi R8 has been a staple when one talks about performance cars. The car comes with a naturally aspirated V-10 that makes us go weak in the knees even today. We are even more emotionally invested in it now because the R8 is about to be electrified and the V-10 engine will be buried forever. The same engine powers the Lamborghini Huracan as well, but the marque is working on developing a twin-turbo V-8 successor for it. But, until the final adieu, Audi will try to milk the machine as much as possible, and the latest updates to it are a testament to that.

Tim Burton from ‘Shmee150’, popularly known as Shmee, brought two of his track machines to an airstrip for a few drag races. First up was the Lamborghini Huracan STO that featured a naturally aspirated V-10, and the other was the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series powered by a 4.0-liter, forced-induction V-8. If you’re a regular viewer of ‘DragTimes’, you’d be aware of how fast Brooks’ McLaren 765LT is. He’s got another really quick car in his garage – a Ferrari SF90 Stradale. We’ve seen it go up against his Model S Plaid in the past, but this time, we get to see it take on the McLaren 765LT, which has been very dominant in most of the races it has competed in. Now, finally, these two cars come face-to-face for a showdown, which Brooks says is the “closest race we’ve ever had” on the channel. Which car do you think is going to win here?

Mercedes launched an assault at the 2021 IAA Mobility Show when it rolled out five EVs - the EQE family sedan, the EQB crossover, EQG Concept off-roader, and the Maybach EQS SUV. The fifth model was the AMG EQS, which was the first AMG model in the EQ lineup. Now, the automaker is following it up with the AMG EQE. The performance version of the EQE was spotted testing recently, proving that the company is taking the electric game to the next level.

Although it was bound to happen, this comes as a surprise. GMC dropped a short trailer teasing the new upcoming Electric Sierra Denali. The automaker hasn’t revealed any details about it, but gave us a glimpse of its front fascia. Well, something’s better than nothing and we at least know GMC has already started working on electrifying the Sierra.

Shelby is celebrating its 60th anniversary next year. To commemorate the special occasion, the company has come up with another limited-production Mustang GT500 Edition called the GT500KR. The ‘KR’ moniker stands for ‘King of the Road’ and it isn’t a new badge and is one of the most famous Shelby Mustangs ever.

To make sure the KR badge isn’t diluted, Shelby has slapped it on a 900-horsepower Ford Mustang GT500! The production will be limited to 225 examples across three model years of the muscle car.

Whether you like him or hate him, there’s no ignoring him. And, if you thought you wouldn’t see more of him this year, well, we’ve got some news. Elon Musk has been named the ’Time Person of the Year’, and it doesn’t come as a surprise. The man has created news and controversies many times this year and is definitely one of the most influential people of 2021. Can you think of anyone else who deserved the honor instead?

Toyota recently announced an $18-billion investment towards electrification that showed the automaker’s commitment to the future. This even includes Lexus, which will be completely electrified by the end of this decade. A myriad of Toyota and Lexus concepts were also revealed – 16 to be precise – but there was one that caught our attention the most. This was the ‘Lexus Electrified Sport’, an electric supercar that could carry forward the legacy of the iconic LFA.

The Audi RS3 was recently updated and it is a fantastic proposition overall. Audi even gave it a little more torque this time around. But, it is still not in the leagues of EVs when it comes to straight-line races. The folks at Carwow pit the Audi RS3 against a Tesla Model 3 that was nothing more than a glorified squash. The Model 3 is in a league of its own, and in this race, it proved the same by obliterating the RS3.

The first new car from Lotus in a long time also happens to be the last internal combustion-engined car. Ladies and gentlemen, presenting to you, the Lotus Emira. The Emira was launched earlier this year, but the company didn’t reveal all the details about it. Since then, Lotus has given us the information in chunks, and now, we have all that we need, right from the interior and exterior details to its drivetrain and pricing specs.

It’s a new day and time for another drag race. This time, it’s the Maserati Levante GTS taking on the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S and it’s come from ‘Sam CarLegion’. When you read the specs, both the SUVs are evenly matched. The German is more powerful, but it is also much heavier, thus nullifying the power advantage. However, once they hit the drag strip, it seemed like a lopsided race. Which SUV do you think won the races?

The Mercedes EQ line of EVs isn’t very old, but the automaker is adding products to the lineup at a superficial rate. At the 2021 IAA Mobility Show, the automaker revealed a total of five EQ products, namely – the AMG EQS performance sedan, the EQE family sedan, the EQB crossover, EQG Concept off-roader, and the Maybach EQS SUV.

As if these weren’t enough, our spy photographers have now spotted the EQE SUV testing in the wild. It will slot in between the EQB crossover and the EQS SUV.

The Tesla Cybertruck debuted almost two years back, but the deliveries have still not begun. We keep getting constant updates about the unorthodox truck, but it wasn’t spied or seen testing… until now. A long, detailed drone footage of the Cybertruck testing at the Tesla’s Fremont facility has come to the fore, courtesy of ‘Chile Al100’. The video shows the Cybertruck, which seems to be in its production form, and features many changes when compared to the prototype that was unveiled in 2019.

There is no dearth of electric cars in the market now. We aren’t just talking about the urban commuters, but also fast electric cars. There are many new automakers that start their electric car journey with fast cars or electric supercars. Companies like Estrema, Aspark, and even Tesla, for that matter, came up with fast electric sports cars or electric supercars. While some have faded into oblivion after showing us promising concepts, some have weathered the storm and are either into production or will enter production.

Here’s a list of the eight fastest electric cars in the world today that are in the production stage or about to enter production. Some of these fast cars are from mainstream automakers, some from established EVmakers, and some from new start-ups.

Mat Watson and his team from ’Carwow’ got four cars to the drag strip for an all-German drag race. The contenders included the Audi RS6, the BMW M5 CS, the Mercedes-AMG E63, and the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. All the cars feature V-8 engines and two turbochargers. The Porsche goes in the races with a slight advantage, thanks to the electric motor assisting the engine and helping it make the most horses here. But, it’s a double-edged sword as the motor and batteries make it the heaviest. Which car do you think will dominate the races?

‘Sam CarLegion’ has come up with yet another interesting drag race, this time pitting a Ford Mustang GT against a tuned Volkswagen Jetta. The Jetta makes almost as much power as the Mustang, but is significantly lighter than it. However, it is a front-wheel-drive car as opposed to the rear-wheel-drive layout on the Mustang. With so many factors working for and against it, do you think the Jetta will be able to beat the Ford Mustang GT?

Ford launched the F-150 Lightning earlier this year. The electric truck checks almost all the boxes and can be considered as the first mainstream electric pickup truck for the masses. There are a lot of electric trucks launched in recent years, like the Tesla Cybertruck, the Rivian R1T, the Lordstown Endurance, the Bollinger B2, etc. But, none of them offer the all-round capability that the F-150 Lightning does.

The Ford truck comes with all the bells and whistles one can ask for, and then some more. For now, Ford has launched it in one body style and three basic trims plus an exclusive work truck model, but expect it to grow in the coming years. With all the subsidies and credits, the F-150 Lightning works out to be the cheapest full-size truck in the market today! (more on this in the ‘Pricing’ section). From the looks of it, the F-150 Lightning seems to be an all-rounder that offers good power outputs, decent range, and a lot of tech features. Do you think it will be a runaway success, or will the loyalists look around at other trucks?

The Porsche 911 is known to be a driver’s car. Lately, we’ve seen various 911 models dominate the drag strip as well. But, is the base 911 Carrera also in the same league? Mat Watson from Carwow finds out by pitting it against the BMW M3 Competition for a series of straight-line races. The BMW makes 125 horses more than the Porsche, but it is also almost 500 pounds heavier. Which car do you think will win?

The folks at ‘The Fast Lane Truck’ conducted a drag race with not two, but five different pickup trucks. They had trucks across segments, starting from the Ford Maverick and the Hyundai Santa Cruz, to the Nissan Frontier, the Toyota Tundra, and the Ford F-150 Raptor. This wasn’t a conventional race wherein you just had all five trucks go at it together. It was more of a gauntlet match wherein the winner of a race faced a new truck in the next round and the loser got eliminated. Sounds a little like Squid Game, doesn’t it?

‘Sam CarLegion’ uploaded another drag race video on his YouTube channel, this time involving a Toyota Supra GR and a Dodge Challenger R/T. It isn’t exactly a fair race, to begin with. We do know the Supra would beat the muscle car even on a limp, but such dominance wasn’t expected. Take a look at it yourself:

There were rumors of a quad-motor setup making the cut in the Cybertruck, and the EV czar, Elon Musk, has now confirmed the same. Replying to a tweet, Musk said that a four-motor variant will hit the production line first. What’s more, the truck will also have Tank Turn and Crab modes! Talk about taking the Rivian R1T and the GMC Hummer EV’s most-talked features.

In September 2021, Jeep debuted the 2022 Grand Cherokee, which happens to be the fifth-gen of the long-running SUV. It marks the introduction of a whole lot of things. The 2022 Grand Cherokee rides on a new platform, comes with exterior and interior upgrades, and features a lot of new off-road tech as well. However, there was something else that stole all the limelight – the 4xe model. Jeep launched the mid-size SUV with a hybrid engine, too, which will be sold as the Grand Cherokee 4xe. This makes it the second 4xe model in the company’s lineup after the Wrangler 4xe.

Do you know what happens when two loved modern-day muscle cars take on each other on a drag strip? Well, all hell breaks loose! ‘Sam CarLegion’ uploaded a video of a Dodge Challenger Hellcat taking on a Ford Mustang tuned by Roush Performance on his YouTube channel. The team raced the cars in different settings but it was surprising to see how evenly matched they are in all of them. This is definitely one of the closest races we’ve seen in a long time.

When you talk about a supercar taking on a family SUV, you know who would win. But, when the SUV in question is a 640-horsepower Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, things aren’t so obvious anymore. ‘Carwow’ uploaded a video of a Lamborghini Huracan Performante taking on a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT and a surprise star next, which is a tuned Nissan GT-R. Do you think the Lamborghini would’ve made short work of both its rivals?

The Porsche GT2 RS needs no introduction. The little beast has flattened a lot of supercars on the drag strip and the track in the past. Now, the car has come around again to add another name to its death note. The victim it has chosen this time is the Lamborghini Huracan STO! Daniel Abt uploaded a video of the same on his YouTube channel and it’s definitely worth watching.

The Bentley Bentayga is one of the most luxurious and opulent SUVs that money can buy you today. While it is a sufficiently big vehicle with a decently long wheelbase, there is a demand for a more spacious Bentayga in certain markets. We can attest to this because a long-wheelbase version of the Bentayga has been spied winter testing in Sweden.

If there’s any car in Tesla Model S Plaid recent times that’s been able to maintain a Tesla Model S Plaid-like dominance on the drag strip, it is the Porsche GT2 RS. The GT2 RS is quite fast, but it has been handed a rare loss here by a superbike. The superbike in question is the Ducati Panigale V4 S and it has humbled the GT2 RS in this race conducted by Daniel Abt. Where does the Porsche go from here?

The Audi Q6 E-Tron is in its development stages, which means it will be caught testing often now. It was recently spied in Sweden for a winter testing session, blanketed in heavy camouflage. However, there were some elements we could decipher here.

Coupe versions of SUVs have been quite a hit in the U.S. in the recent years. Automakers are coming up with the sloping roofline versions of the mid-size and full-size SUVs and they are selling pretty well. Such is the demand that you can now have them even in the sportiest and the most luxurious avatar. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S is a strong example of the same. It comes with a V-8 mill that puts out over 600 horsepower, is luxurious on the inside, and is loaded to the gills in terms of features. It faces stiff competition from the likes of the BMW X6 M and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo – is it any better than its German counterparts?

Every automaker is on the cusp of announcing ambitious plans to switch to electrification. While some have jumped the wagon, some are still on the verge of doing it. The latest automaker to do so is the Japanese giant Nissan. Nissan has revealed its ‘Nissan Ambition 2030’ plan that includes 23 electrified models coming out of the automaker’s stable this decade. To give a glimpse of what to expect, Nissan has revealed four EV concepts. None of them are anywhere close to a production model, but this shows Nissan will re-shape itself as an EVmaker in the ongoing paradigm shift.

The ‘Carwow’ team brought in five German cars to face each other on the drag strip. The contenders include the Audi RS3, the BMW M2, the Mercedes-AMG A45, the Porsche Cayman GTS, and the Volkswagen Golf R. All the cars have very different setups – some are naturally aspirated, some turbocharged; some are rear-wheel-drive, some all-wheel-drive – that make this an unpredictable race. Brooks from ‘DragTimes’ took his Ferrari SF90 Stradale to the drag strip for a fight against a McLaren 720S. The 720S isn’t stock. It features upgraded intake, downpipes, and is tuned to make close to 900 horses at the wheel. This puts the power outputs very close to the SF90 Stradale’s. Do you think the British can one-up the Italian hybrid beast here, or will the latter prevail?

If you’re following the EV scene closely, then I’m almost certain you’re aware of Alpha Motors. The company has been pretty active since late 2020 and has launched EVs across segments. Things started off with the Ace coupe, followed by the crossover called the Jax, a pickup truck named Wolf, and its alter-ego called the Superwolf. Now, the automaker has come up with yet another retro, quirky car called the Saga. Alpha Motors seems to be building quite a portfolio here, isn’t it?

Hyundai has paid homage to the 1986 Grandeur by electrifying it and equipping it with modern features. The Grandeur was Hyundai’s luxury flagship sedan introduced in the South Korean market and was an important product for it back then. The company is celebrating the Grandeur’s 35th anniversary by reincarnating the 1986 Grandeur as an EV. Called the Heritage Series Grandeur, this ‘electrifying retro-futuristic’ resto-mod looks tasteful and reminds people of the car that paved the South Korean’s way into the luxury sedan segment in its domestic market.

Ever since the Tesla Model S Plaid arrived, it has taken the drag racing scene by storm. The mighty fast EV has downed big names like the Lamborghini Huracan EVO, the McLaren 765 LT, the Dodge Demon, the Nissan GT-R, and even the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, to name a few. Now, the McLaren 720S Spider took it upon itself to avenge the humiliation the Plaid has caused to those cars, and it has successfully done it. All hail the McLaren 720S Spider!

For a company that comes up with pretty much a new generation of the F-150 every five years, it sure milked the Ranger for a very, very long time; 11 years to be precise. Ford sold the Ranger T-6 for 11 years without a major update, but times are changing now.

The Blue Oval has unveiled the next-gen 2023 Ford Ranger. It is based on an upgraded chassis, comes with new styling cues, and also features a new V-6 diesel mill. The mid-size truck will also have a longer wheelbase, a wider body, and a whole of tech features inside.

The Ford F-Series can be given the tag of ‘The Truck of America’ without a doubt. The F-Series has been the best-selling range for close to five consecutive decades. Although the F-150 gets the major chunk of the volume for Ford, there are many other heavy-duty models in the range that have been ruling the respective segments. We recently laid our hands on the 2021 F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab. This Limited trim F-250 featured a four-wheel-drive system and came with the V-8 diesel mill that puts out a four-digit torque figure! Read on to know more about it.

Mazda has introduced a new SUV to its lineup called the CX-50. Rumored to replace the CX-5 in the automaker’s lineup, the CX-50 will actually coexist with the former and try to bring in big numbers for Mazda together. The CX-50 is brought in to boost Mazda’s sales in the U.S. as the company aims to move 150,000 examples of it every year. Not a whole lot of details are revealed, but from what we know so far, it will be the jack of all trades.

The Mercedes-AMG SLS is an iconic machine and it will go down in the history books as one of the most legendary monikers to have ever graced us. It isn’t just about that long hood or the gullwing doors; the car is a beast on the track. The folks at Carwow pit it against a BMW M3 Competition to set up a naturally aspirated V-8 vs a twin-turbo straight-six. Do you think the SLS has in it to take down the turbocharged M3?

The SEMA Show plays host to hundreds of vehicles from automakers and aftermarket companies from all across the globe. One of the most consistent groups to take part at the show is Stellantis with Mopar. Most of its brands – especially Jeep – always turn heads with some fantastic concepts. This year was no exception as the auto group brought seven different concepts from Jeep, Ram, and Dodge to the recently concluded event at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Most of the speculations prior to the launch of the C8 Corvette Z06 were based on the C8.R race car, especially about the 5.5-liter V-8. The leaks sure helped, but it the C8.R race car was used as a benchmark. Now, the automaker has decided to replace the C8.R with the Corvette Z06 GT3.R. What makes this even special is that you will be able to purchase it. We’ve seen automakers like Porsche and BMW do this, but not Chevy.

The Bronco Raptor has been in the news pretty much the day after the Bronco was unveiled. A lot of rumors and speculations were seen headlining the auto scene, but nothing was official for over a year. In September, however, Ford confirmed that the Bronco Raptor is coming in 2022. Post this announcement, one thing was sure – we would be hearing and seeing a lot more about it.

As it turns out, we have our first scoop already. A bunch of folks from ’The Bronco Nation’ were invited to see the Bronco Raptor in person and thanks to them, we have our best glimpse of the burly off-roader to date.

Acura has been hyping the new Integra for a few months now. It all started in August this year when the automaker officially announced that the moniker is making a comeback. The next month, we got to know that it will be a full-blown hatchback with fastback styling. And, finally, coming up with a kickass trailer announcing that the new Integra will feature a six-speed manual gearbox.

Fast forward to the present day, Acura has revealed the 2023 Integra prototype. It is a near-production version and we don’t expect any major changes to be made to the real deal. Unfortunately, the company didn’t give out a lot of details, but we at least know what it looks like.

Ford was mighty active at the recently concluded SEMA Show. It introduced tens of concepts for its trucks and the Mustang range. The Bronco wasn’t left behind either. We would’ve liked it if the Bronco Raptor would have made its debut here, but instead, the company gave us the Bronco DR – a Desert Racer built to compete in the 2022 Baja 1000. Interestingly, the company will put it up for sale, but it isn’t street legal. Care you shell out over $200,000 for the beast?

When EVs take on internal combustion engines, they win almost always. Subaru has taken the wraps off the Japan-spec Solterra EV. The Solterra has been developed with Toyota and will be the Subaru version of the bZ4x SUV. The company didn’t spill all the beans yet, but it gives us a preview of what to expect from the U.S.-spec Solterra that debuts on November 17 ahead of the L.A. Auto Show.

The Tesla Model S Plaid has been kicking ass ever since it was launched. Its straight-line sprints have been nothing but impressive. The car comes with ridiculous performance specs, with one of them being a quarter-mile time of 9.23 seconds. Many drivers have attempted to break the record and some have successfully managed to do it, but none of them were able to slip under the nine-second mark… until now. A Plaid owner has clocked a time of 8.994 seconds to set a new record! How long do you think it will stay?

Back in 2020, a Greek automotive designer named Spyros Panopoulos made us aware of the existence of a 3,000-horsepower ‘ultra-car’ called the ‘Chaos’. It was to be unveiled at the 2021 Geneva Auto Show, but since the show was canceled, that didn’t happen. However, Spyros Panopoulos (also the name of the company) has finally launched the Chaos after teasing it a few times in the past.

The Chaos is no ordinary beast. It makes over 3,000 horses in its best avatar, and no; it’s not an EV! The power is drawn from a V-10 engine. The company claims a 0-62 mph time of just 1.55 seconds and a quarter-mile time of under 7.5 seconds! Get over the Tesla Model S Plaid; the Chaos is here to wreak havoc!

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is arguably one of the best internal combustion-engined cars on the drag strip. It has even beaten the likes of the Audi R8 Spyder. So, why even bother to put it up against an old-school, 1970s Volkswagen Beetle? Well, because this Beetle has been electrified and makes 450 horses! The Porsche makes more horsepower, but can the instant torque of the Beetle prove to be too much for the sports car?

Toyota introduced the new, third-gen 2022 Tundra a couple of months back. The third-gen truck was due for a long as the second-gen model was in production for 14 years. The company tweaked it many times in its run, but it started to feel too long in the tooth when compared to its chief rivals. The new 2022 Tundra was expected to come with a lot of new specs and features and it didn’t disappoint.

The highlight of the new Tundra are its drivetrain options. The company ditched the old V-8 workhorse in favor of a V-6 that is offered in three configurations. Apart from this, it rides on a new platform and features a new suspension setup, has a sharper exterior, and comes with a tech-heavy, updated interior. It starts at nearly $36,000; up by over $1,500 over the model it replaces.

The ‘Carwow’ team brought three extremely different cars to the drag strip to take on each other. The first one was a Honda NSX, the next one an F1 car, and the unlikeliest rival of them all, a radio control car! From what we’ve seen before, you can never rule out an RC car; and the same was proved yet again. The Arrma RC car exceeded all expectations and smashed not just the NSX, but also the F1 car. How about that!

Ford has unloaded a bunch of concepts at the 2021 SEMA Show. If it were just the off-roaders and the trucks, we wouldn’t be too surprised. But, the automaker took things a step further by rolling out the Mustang and Mustang Mach-E concepts as well.

The Hoonigan team was back to the drag strip for another edition of ‘This vs That’. This time, the guys brought a 2020 Lamborghini Huracan EVO to take on a 2018 Wolf GB08 TSC-LT, which happened to be the fastest car at this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Does the Huracan EVO have any chance to win here?

Ford is back at the SEMA Show with a plethora of concepts. The company has with concepts for the Bronco, the Maverick, theRanger, the F-150, the Mustang, and the Mustang Mach-E. We’ve already covered the Bronco concepts, so here is a list of all the Ford truck concepts – the Maverick, Ranger, and the F-150 – from this year’s SEMA edition.

Do you know what’s better than one Nissan GT-R? Well, three Nissan GT-Rs! The ‘Carwow’ team brought three Godzillas to the drag strip to take on each other. All of them were tuned differently and made a lot more power than the stock model. The least powerful GT-R in this race made 650 ponies and the most powerful made 1,600 horses. The other was no slouch either and it made 1,000 horses. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how the races will end; but, will there be any upset victories here?

It hasn’t even been a week since Mercedes launched the new SL. The new 2023 Mercedes-AMG SL is a different beast altogether when compared to its predecessor as it is now an AMG-exclusive model only. There were rumors that it would replace not just it’s the outgoing SL, but also the GT. However, the company’s design chief, Gorden Wagener, has confirmed that both the models will coexist without really stepping on each other’s toes.

Ford Performance and Vaughn Gittin Jr. collaborated for a video and it’s driving us crazy… in a good way, that is. They venture to the Faroe Islands, a place that seems to be pulled out of a fairy tale, to have some fun with a 1,400-horsepower Mustang Mach-E. This 12-odd minute video covers a whole lot of aspects – drifting on winding roads, the smart 1,400-horsepower Mach-E, the resting bitch face sheep, and of course, the fantastic cinematography, amongst other things.

With the advent of EVs, we’ve seen loads of new companies come up with electric EVs. Companies like Hyperion and Estrema are some of them that come to mind. They’ve got pretty impressive products like the XP-1 and the Fulminea, which come with specs that will blow your mind. But, in this horde, fuel-powered supercars still stand apart and please the old-school folks who are yet to accept the EV-olution.

A decade-old Italian automaker called Mazzanti Automobili has come up with its third hypercar called the Evantra Pura. As clichéd as it sounds, the Italians sure know how to make pizzas, pasta, and supercars!

Mat Watson from ‘Carwow’ brought two BMW M3 Competitions to the drag strip for a series of drag races. The only difference between these two cars is their drive layout. One is a rear-wheel-drive model, whereas the other features an all-wheel-drive system. On paper, the M3 Competition RWD is almost half a second slower to 60 mph from a standstill. Will that play a huge role in determining the winner of this race? Let’s find out.

Brooks from ‘DragTimes’ has come up with yet another Tesla Model S Plaid race, but for once, its legacy is at stake. So far, the Plaid has remained pretty much unbeatable, except for losing to the Rimac Nevera. This time, it faces the Ferrari SF90 Stradale – a hybrid car that makes close to 1,000 horses and is significantly lighter than the Plaid, thus giving it a better power-to-weight ratio. Will the SF90 Stradale prove to be the Plaid’s nemesis as long as it lives?

Chevy finally launched the fifth-gen 2023 Corvette Z06 on 10.26.2021; two years after the C8 Corvette came out. The Z06 is a huge improvement over the standard model in general, but the automaker offers another package that takes this up the notch even more – the Z07 Package. Chevy let out details about the Z07 Package at the Z06’s launch and it is quite impressive. Here’s a rundown of what to expect from it:

Mat Watson from ‘Carwow’ got three Gazoo Racing race cars to the drag strip for a series of races. The three cars were a 2021 Toyota GR Corolla British Touring car, a 2022 Toyota GR Corolla Touring car, and an old-school 1986 Toyota Corolla AE86. These racing cars are a different breed and aren’t your typical quarter-mile cars. But, the team here decided to put them on the drag strip and see how they perform.

The current-gen Mercedes SL has been around for almost a decade and it has started to look too long in the tooth. But, not for long, because the automaker has unveiled the latest R232-gen SL. The new model is a whole new model in every sense. It rides on a new platform, new design language, plush interiors, and a whole lot of tech features. The icing on top? It will be sold as an AMG-exclusive model! Sweet, huh?

The new SL is all set to be launched today. The iconic car is AMG-fied and will be heavy on performance moving forward. There isn’t a lot known about it yet, but we do know that the car will be powered by a V-8 engine and a 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. It sounds pretty absurd at the onset that a Volkswagen Golf can beat a Ferrari 488 Pista in a quarter-mile race. But, it actually can… on a technicality. The folks at ‘Driven Media’ pit these two very unlikely contenders in a drag race. It goes without saying that the Italian supercar will win, but is there a way the Golf can get the W? Well, it can if the Ferrari treats it as a standing drag race and the Golf as a rolling race. But, at what speed? Let’s find out.

What’s touted as the world’s first luxury SUV has been around since 1970 and the current generation has been there for nine years now. As per today’s standards, most of us would say it’s been too long in the tooth. In fact, it even has new competitors now in the form of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and the Lexus LX600.

But, the automaker has finally debuted the fifth-gen Land Rover Range Rover and it comes with some significant changes. It rides on a new platform, is offered with eight different engine options including two plug-in hybrids, and features a lot of new features on the inside.

The C8 Corvette came out a couple of years back and we have been waiting for the new Z06 ever since. The time is finally here. The company has hyped it enough to keep us on our toes and it seems to be worth the wait. The 2023 Z06 comes with a new LT6 5.5-liter, flat-plane crank naturally aspirated V-8 engine that puts out 670 horses; 175 horses more than the standard C8. The engine redlines at 8,600 rpm and will be mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Gone are the days when Legos were just building blocks for small kids. Once people realized they can be fun for adults also, Legos suddenly became a serious passion. Companies realized this, too, and started making models of all shapes, sizes, and types. The latest Lego “artifact” that has caught our attention is this 1:8 scale model of the GTA Spano. It isn’t just a ‘model’; it comes with a set of motors that makes it mobile. In fact, it is officially the world’s fastest Lego model! The scale model has a top speed of 23 mph! Pretty cool, huh?

It’s a well-known fact that EVs are better swimmers than internal combustion engines. But, how much better? Are they good at just wading, or can they actually “swim”? Well, Chet from ‘Chillin’ with Chet’ tested this out on his new Tesla Model S Plaid and proved that EVs can actually even be submerged! Of course, a lot of prep went into this ‘submarine test’, so don’t even think about trying this with your electric vehicle!

The talks of the new Corvette Z06 started within a few days after the standard C8 was launched. The car was spotted testing in the past as well. After making us wait for a couple of years, the company decided to announce in August this year that the Z06 is coming soon. The countdown had then begun, and we are now around 24 hours away from its official debut at the time of writing this article.

The Tesla Model S Plaid has shamed so many beloved supercars and sports cars in the past on the drag strip. It is arguably one of the hottest factory cars when it comes to drag racing. And, it only seems to be the start. The Plaid has been spied repeatedly with an Aero Package that will only improve its track and straight-line performances. While we wait for that to come, the standard Plaid has been continuing its dominance, this time taking down a 700-horsepower Porsche 911 Turbo S Other than the Rimac Nevera, is there any other worthy opponent for the Plaid right now?

There are some performance wagons in the market today, like the Audi RS6 Avant, the Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate, and even the upcoming BMW M3 Touring. But, scout deeper and you’ll find loads of aftermarket performance wagons. Jamie from ‘Officially Gassed – OG’ found two hot ones and decided to pit them against each other. These are the Subaru WRX STI Wagon, which has been here before, and the Volkswagen Golf R Estate. They both make around 500 horses each and come with a ton of mods. Which wagon are you rooting for?

A BMW X1 prototype with a quad-exhaust setup was recently spied and it made us wonder if it is the SUV’s standalone M model. But, the company has stated in the past that there will never be a pure M model based on the front-wheel-drive platform. So, this means that the prototype that was spotted was an X1 M35i and not a full-blown M model. Well, not sure if we’re happy or sad seeing this camouflaged prototype.

GMC took the wraps off the 2022 Sierra today and it seems to be an impressive upgrade over the outgoing model. The company has introduced two new trims which are basically upgraded versions of the existing trims. One is the Denali Ultimate, and the other is the AT4X. Apart from this, there are a lot of tech upgrades as well, but the highlight of the lot is the introduction of the Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology. If you had only the Ford F-150, Ram 1500, and the Chevy Silverado shortlisted for your next truck purchase, well, skimping the 2022 Sierra will be a cardinal sin.

The Nürburgring has been quite busy with a lot of automakers testing new models, new generations, and facelifts on the track. We’ve spotted the Honda Civic Type-R, the BMW M3 Touring, the BMW M2 Competition, the Volkswagen ID.5 GTX, the Tesla Model S Plaid with the Aero Package, and heck, evenC-8 Corvette E-Ray! Now, our spy photographers have spotted the next-gen Land Rover Range Rover making short work of the Nürburgring.

Audi has made some changes to the R8’s lineup. For starters, the entry-level all-wheel-drive ‘Quattro’ model has been sent into oblivion, which the R8 RWD is replaced with the R8 V-10 Performance RWD. It makes roughly 30 horses more than the standard RWD model that it replaces, and the new power output is the same as the outgoing entry-level Quattro model. Can it help pump up the sales?

The next-gen Mercedes-AMG GLC 63e was spotted recently by our spy photographers. The other versions have been spotted in the past, but not this high-performance model. There is a lot of skin on it, but the AMG design elements are still evident. The highlight of the upcoming SUV will be the hybrid four-pot engine that will fill the big shoe of a V-8 engine.

Thomas and James from ‘Throttle House’ organized an all-wheel-drive drag race that had some big names racing against each other. The contenders included an Audi RS5, a BMW M4 xDrive, and a Nissan GT-R. On paper, the GT-R makes the most power, but will that translate to a clean sweep over its German counterparts?

The Tesla Model S Plaid was spotted testing at the Nürburgring recently with an aero package equipped. Now, three prototypes have been spotted by our spy photographers on the ‘Ring as well as on the public roads. The highlight, of course, is the aero package and that active rear spoiler, but we also spotted it riding on different tires on the public roads and the track. With the way the testing is going, we think the package will be released soon.

Volkswagen was supposed to debut the ID.5 GTX at the 2021 IAA Mobility Show in Munich, but canceled it at the last minute. We saw a camouflaged version ahead of the show which didn’t hide much of the styling cues, but it was still with some skin. Now, the coupe-version of the ID.4 was recently spotted stretching its legs at the Nürburgring without nearly any camouflage this time.

Unlike the Honda Civic Type-R which has been leaked many times and we have some details already, the automaker managed to stay tight-lipped about the new Civic Si. But, the eleventh-gen Si is here now and it comes with quite a few changes. On paper, it makes less power, but the car is said to be improved in a whole lot of other aspects. It now features the Type-R’s rev-matching, peak torque at lower rpm, and even better exhaust flow. How about that!

N+ Bikes and Mercedes-Benz teamed up and came up with a new EQ Formula E Team eBike. Although battery-powered, it looks like a smart, classic road cycle without those humongous frames or external batteries that would give it a bulky look. The eBike is offered in three trims, and in its best avatar, can offer a range of up to 62 miles. The EQ Formula E Team eBike starts at $1,990 and tops out at $4,500.

The new BMW M2 has been spotted testing at the Nürburgring. It has been spotted back previously as well, but this time it’s in the Competition-spec. BMW is planning to revamp the new M2 to a large extent and it won’t just be a baby M3 now. Will it be able to live up to the hype, or are we in for a disappointing surprise when the car comes out?

Specialty Vehicle Engineering has been the tuner for Chevrolet vehicles for decades now. The company comes up with fantastic builds often, and one of the latest creations is for the Camaro. The 2021 Yenko Camaro is offered with Stage I and Stage II builds. The Stage I makes 1,000 horses and the Stage II makes 1,050. Apart from these mighty upgrades, the car also comes with many aesthetic changes that differentiate it from the standard Camaro. There’s no word on the pricing yet, but the 2021 Yenko Camaro will be limited to 100 examples combined.

The good folks at ‘Carwow’ had a three-way race between a BMW M5 Competition, a Nissan R35 GT-R, and a Ducati Panigale V4R. While the superbike was stock, the cars most certainly weren’t. The German and the Japanese made 2,400 horses combined to fend off competition from a 200-odd-horsepower bike. Do you think the Ducati can beat these two cars, or will it be one of them to show the superbike its place?

Both these cars have a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and have rear-wheel-drive layouts, and weigh pretty much the same. However, one is a naturally aspirated V-10 and the other a twin-turbo V-8. Which car do you think will take the wins here?

Honda gave us a glimpse of the upcoming Civic Type-R a few days back. The company released two images of the hot hatch that were wrapped in camouflage, but gave us a fairly good idea about its styling cues. But, to us enthusiasts, two images aren’t enough. So, here are some more shots of the Civic Type-R taken by our photographers. The only fly in the ointment is that this car has got red skin as well. Nevertheless, we get to see it in action this time and with fewer clothes than the first time it was spied.
