818 horsepower under the hood will put the Urus to shame

LISTEN 02:23

The Audi RS Q8 is the most powerful SUV Audi has to offer, and just a detuned version of the Lamborghini Urus. And, despite being a heavy SUV - 5,291 pounds - it still goes from 0 to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. German tuner Manhart found a way to improve things even further, despite not offering any aerodynamic upgrades.

What changes were made under the hood?

The Audi RS Q8 is powered by the same engine as the Lamborghini Urus: a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine that delivers a total of 592 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Of course, in the Urus the power is increased to 641 horsepower and 627 pound-feet - which is quite unfair when you think the RS Q8 and the Urus are one and the same car.

And this is where Manhart comes along to make justice in the world. The tuner is offering a Manhart turbo upgrade in combination with a matching Manhart intercooler, ECU remapping, and a carbon intake by Eventuri. There is also a new, stainless steel exhaust system, including valve control and four 100-millimeter end pipes.

The result is a total of 818 horsepower and a peak torque of 775 pound-feet.

With the extra 226 horsepower and 185 pound-feet you can imagine the RQ 800 is going to be a lot faster than the standard RS Q8. And while Manhart did not say anything about this, we expect the RQ 800 to go from 0 to 60 mph in way less than 3.7 seconds and up to more than 189 mph.

Are there any other updates offered?

The exterior of the car suffered no major makeover, but the tuner does offer a new set of 24-inch Y-spoke wheels, finished in satin black with a colored line on the horn.

They are wrapped in 295/30 ZR24 and 355/25 ZR24 tires and are combined with a more stable brake system. The final touches are a lowered suspension and the traditional decorative stripes and lettering.
